Clothing That Keeps Its Shape - What Brands?

Hi Moms,

I went throught the comfortable shirt phase - the Target brand Mossimo v-neck t's, etc. They're very nice, but they lose their shape and just look frumpy. I want to find some more tailored "comfy" shirts that I can wear around the house, but also wear to work in a business casual setting. I want to look cute instead of frumpy, even when I just want to throw something on. I'm also looking for shirts that are constructed in a way that they keep their shape.

Any brands/stores you might recommend? I'm not a big spender on clothes - would rather shop at Target than Neiman Marcus :)

Thanks for your help!

I am more of a Neiman's fan but for everyday, I shop Ann Taylor, Nordstrom, GAP body. They have some great tops I've had that hold up well.

That said, I wash my tops in cold water and line dry. They never go into the dryer.

I agree with the person who recommended Lands End. I've liked everything I have purchased there. For the purpose you state, I would look for a T or shirt that has a little bit of Lycra for stretch and sheen. A regular cotton tee looks very casual/athletic but a stretchy one can transition to the casual office.

Lands end. They are guaranteed so you can take them back if they get yucky. You should also look for the sales at stores like Ann Taylor, LOFT and Banana Republic. They often run sales that feature 40% off of already reduced merchandise. You can get some nice, non-frumpy and well made clothes for as much as you would spend at Target. They will last longer also so will be more cost efficient.

I have always had really great luck with Gap. Old navy is pretty good, too.

Try Old Navy
Or Gap
or Banana Republic
These stores are all on the same website...

Often online, they have good sales.
Me and my kids wear these brands... I never have a problem with it or it looking worn or out of shape.

I agree with Gap. Casual but last forever. I disagree with Kohls and Old Navy. I think their clothes are cute but don't hold up very long at all - one season to one year.
