So since my son was born he's been a cluster feeder. 1.5ozs here, .5ozs there, the most he takes at once is 3.5oz and thats VERY rare. He's 6mths old and the doctor is giving me heck because of it but I have tried making him super hungry before he gets the milk and he'll still be satisfied after about 2 ozs and then 30 mins later another oz, then 15 mins later another oz. Its not that big a deal to me as long as he gets what he needs, Im a stay at home mom currently so he is my main focus. Its just its effecting his sleep, which means its effecting his mood... Before bed he'll eat anywhere from 3-5ozs, 5 being a very rare occasion as well. And it'll take about an hr for him to finish them all. But he gets up 2-4 times a night wanting a couiple ozs! He wont take a pacifier, he sucks his thumb, but he'll only suck for so long before he's screaming because he's genuinely hungry... The big problem is his first tooth is coming in and he cant be doing this with teeth because it'll create cavities or rot them and my little brother had rotten teeth when he was younger, it was terrible! This is my first child so Ive never experienced anything like this and I want to know if anyone else ever has and what they did to stop it.

My son is 6mths and on Enfamil gentlease due to breastfeeding issues at 1 mth< so hrs been on it for over 5mths. (formula)

You should be able to start cereal. Sounds like he's hungry!! I personally had the trouble of being up all night breastfeeding. I started my lil girl at 5 months mixing breastmilk with cereal and feeding with a spoon in highchair first thing in the morning. Then, started using nursery water with the cereal a couple days later. I also started feeding nursery water in a sippy cup with meals. About 2 weeks later we were feeding her baby food squash and sweet potatoes. She ate breakfast and late lunch after her last nap.
I know it seems early to start those things, but my lil girl was hungry and thirsty! She loved the cold water in sippy cup during the day. I put it on the floor where she plays.
Here is a schedule I keep:
6:30 Instead of bottle in the morning, try some cereal (like alot of cereal) and a jar of fruit or veggies. Feed the baby until he is full and won't eat anymore. Then, let him play until nap time.
9:30-10 Bottle and put down for nap. Don't let him sleep longer than 2 hours. You don't have to wake him up necessarily, but open the door and start making noise so he wakes up on his own.
12:00 Feed lunch like a jar or two of baby food. Put some Cheerios on the tray and let him play eat. After, let him play.
3:00 Bottle and put down for nap. Don't let him sleep longer than 2 hours. Again, you don't have to wake him up necessarily, but open the door and start making noise so he wakes up on his own.
Then, Bottle maybe 2 more times before bed time. Keep bedtime early like 7:30 is good. My daughter wakes up at the most 3 times at night when she's teething. Usually though she wakes up at 3:00 for a feeding.
He might like eating and he's old enough to start. Maybe it will satisfy him enough and get you both some sleep!!!
Good luck. ;)

Are you sure you're producing enough milk? How old is your son?

My daughter wanted feedings during the night and right before bed for quite a while off and on after getting teeth and had no trouble. She was on formula at that point too. I think juice is really the big no-no, but I guess every kid is different too--some teeth are tougher than others.

Yes, I would also like to know if you are breastfeeding or using formula. Breastmilk does not cause tooth rot, in fact in kills the bacteria that cause cavities.
