Hey I was just informed that my baby will be moving to the toddler class. They no longer heat the bottle. She likes warmed milk. She is moving on Tues how do I transition that fast.

What can I do next?

I am doing this with my son too. He really likes his milk warmed up too. I have been starting to heat it less and less and that slowly gets him used to cold milk.

However long you usually heat it, take 10 to 15 seconds off and keep doing that through the week until she drinks it cold.

It's a week away, I think you can get a good start on it. I got my kids used to cold milk as soon as possible b/c I hated warming it up in the middle of the night! Just warm it less and less and she'll be fine. Even room temp is good.

She will probably do fine. I would not worry about it.

In a similar vein, my daughter cannot drink cow's milk, so when it was time to transition her to soy milk, she flat out refused to drink it. I panicked and consulted her pedi. His answer -- do not give her a choice, babies will NOT dehydrate themselves, they will eventually drink; so from this point forward, only offer her soy milk and have the daycare do the same, she'll eventually drink it.

And guess what? She did. So my advice is to only offer her cold milk from this point forward, have the daycare do the same--she'll drink it eventually.

My son never had a problem with cold milk, even as a newborn. Try giving it her cold and see how she does.
