Mu husband and I are interested in buying our daughter (turned 2 in Nov) some type of "play computer." I would really like a learning computer b/c she is so much into counting, letters, shapes, colors, etc. She also loves to sit at the computer with me and my husband and watch videos and pictures.
I'm just not sure where to begin...I know FP and Leap Frog have computers for kids. I'd love to hear recommendations from any of you who have a computer for your little one.
Hi J., I got my son a play computer from Target for Christmas that has a whole lot of games on it and it was only 20.00! I found it in the aisle that has all the non name brand products, in the toy section! I let him play with it to see if he liked it and he totally loved it! Hope this helps!
I think that's about the age we got the My first leap pad. It was pretty cute. :)
Go Leap Frog all the way. It is the best one. Our 3 yr.old is reading, counting, knows all her numbers, and her lanuage skills are really great.
we got my daughter the v-tech to go. it is wonderful and she loved it, although we did just get it last year when she was 3, i'm not sure about the age on it. also v-tech has the hand held games that also hook into the tv, i think that some of the games start at 2yrs. of course leapster is great but i prefer v-tech because they are still learning geared but the prices on the games and such are more reasonable
My daughter got the V-tech Tote and Go Laptop Plus for her 2nd birthday, and loves it. she's almost 3, and still plays with it almost every day. It has great learning games, and she loves to check her "email". I highly recommend it. It has been a lifesaver on a few long trips!
My daughter got the Vtech; and she is not interested in at all. She will turn two in January. Not sure if it is just her or the product; or maybe too young.
We have not tried any other brand.
We had two computers in our home when my oldest turned two and we got a Winnie the Pooh keyboard and the Reader Rabbit software to go on mine! They have beginners all the way up. I feel like he learned a lot using the software, because it was a real computer. My younger son who is two and a half now is enjoying it. It teaches them how to use a mouse and the parts of the computer a long with reading and math skills. Just a thought.

Vtech has some great options.
My daughter is almost 14. When she was about 2 we bought a V-tech laptop style "like daddy's".
She LOVED that thing. Would you believe, it is still in her closet and it STILL works.
I call that a good value and quite durable!!

V-tech has a cute tote-n-go computer...very reasonable price under $25 it even has a small mouse. My son who is four LOVES it. It looks like a small laptop computer and is really perfect for travel. I've seen it at many different stores. Perfect for 2 year old--larger buttons numbers/letters etc...
I think the leapster games are geared more for 3-4 and up
FP cool school is neat too but that is more for play at home...
