A cat! What fun! For whiskers you could glue on broom strands!
If you ever need boots again - try spray painting if you can get them in a neutral color and need them red!

So, my 3 yr old has her heart set on being a cowgirl for Halloween! Dont ask me.. i don't know! We're looking for red boots.. not too terribly expensive! I know target & walmart usually put some out every year, but i haven't seen them this year! does anyone know where I can find some UNDER $20?! I'm trying to stay away from the true "western" stores, b/c this is JUST FOR HALLOWEEN! she will probably never wear them again... I pray.. hahaha jk
Thanks to everyone who sent us advice & offers to borrow boots!! I really appreciate it! On the way to the store this morning (to buy a bandanna) my daughter decided she wants to be a black cat! random, i know- 3 yr olds can be so indecisive!! So we bought a tail, ears, & face pant to do whiskers! haha Problem solved!! thanks, ladies!

They weren't red, but I got mine last year (also for Halloween) at Kohls.
Hey N., what size does she wear and where do you live, city wise?
Try the kids resale shops: Kid to Kid, Once Upon a Child, Children's Orchard, Cutie Patootie, etc. Call them and see if they have anything. Or go on Craig's List. Good luck, J.
Try Ebay... (just searched for girls cowboy boots red)..there are several...Good luck!
We bought a cowgirl outfit and pink boots at one of the country western stores when she was about 5 so she could be Jesse from Toy Story. It was not that unreasonably priced.
A few other children have borrowed and used the outfit as well.
HA HA, I am with you on the Western attire..... thankfully, it was just a phase for dd. There is not 1 ounce of country western in our blood... Not that it is bad....just not us...
Have fun!
I got news for you--once they get to wear cowgirl boots, you NEVER get them out of them! ;) We are on our third pair now. Last year's pair was really inexpensive. We bought them at Target, and they were purple and pink with Disney Princesses on them. You've never seen anything so tacky in your life, but boy, did my daughter adore them! People made a huge fuss over them when she wore them, so I can see why she always wanted them on.
If you're wanting to stay really really cheap and it's just for a costume, you could make her some spats. They look like boots but are made out of red felt and cover her normal shoes. If you're interested, I can tell you how to make a pattern for them. It's not hard at all as long as you have a sewing machine.
Do you already have an outfit? I have a very cute Toddler outfit that still has the tags on them. I am going to post them on craigslist to sell. It is a cute white top w/ red boots on them and a skirt w/ bandana trim in red. Very cowgirlish. My daughter never wore it, it was a gift. I had thought about using it for a cowgirl outfit for Halloween, but we never did. I could send you pictures.
Please let me know if you are interested.
Thank you,
S.
