Try Heel Balm. It's about $10 a tube. I get at my podiatrist's office but I bet you can find it online or at the drug store. It works wonders overnight.
I have very bad cracked heals. The best solution I found is a prescription cream, called AmLactin. It has 12% lactic acid in it. You put it on twice a day and it makes your feet baby soft. Just don't use on legs, face, anywhere else on the body. I'm diabetic and I wory about foot injuries, so after trying so many different things, my doctor recomended it and it's awsome. Before, I would try to use a pumice stone to get the calluses off, but this would just make my heals crack worse. Then, I tried using an antibacterial wash, drying them and then using Liquid Bandade. This sort of worked, but the amlactin takes care of the problem altogether. I notice a difference - if I stop using it for a week or so, my heals get all dry and callusy again. Now, I just use it every few days. I'm am cursed with dry feet - my dad had the same problem, and I found out later that his doctor in a different state recommended the same cream that he uses. Ask your doctor about it, you'll be soooo relieved!!!
Hi G.!
I have used a number of creams (many didn't work too well!) and the last one I used that really seemed to work was Neutrogena's Cracked Heel Moisturizing Treatment. It was also one of the more inexpensive ones that I have used. I haven't used Avon or School's products designed for cracked heels.
as a professional in the beauty industry, i can tell you that the reason you have cracked heels is beacuse you neglect your feet. the cracking starts with an overwhelming amoung of un-exfoliated cells that just build and build. you need to exfoliate on a regular basis. to begin with, i would recomend a pedicure with an EXTRA exfoliation treatment. then you can take care of your feet at home with a pumice stone two or three times a week. and MOISTUREIZE. it dosent even have to be with foot specific products. the problem stems from a lack of moisture and lack of exfoliation. mositure helps to loosen dead skin cells and push them away from the skin. if there is not sufficient moisture, the skin forms a sort of skin cell crust. GROSS. if you just use a topical cream to relive the problem, it will keep coming back. i cant say enough about exfoliation. trust me, if you get this under control before winter, you will save yourself alot of misery.
My sister owns a salon and day spa, so I have some suggestions!!! First you need to remove the dead skin on your heels and feet. I use (and love!!) Nikell professional nickel pedicure set which you can get at amazon.com for $21.95. I bought mine at the Chicago Midwest Beauty show last year. The set has a coarse file (used to remove the dead skin and cracks) and a medium file (used after the coarse to smooth your feet. It is much better than a pumice stone as it is made of nickel and it comes with a life time gaurantee (sp?) Next you need a really thick cream made for feet. I love both Qtica (www.qtica.com) intense foot cream and CCS foot care cream whcih is manufactured by CCS AB, Sweden. I purchased it at the beauty show too, so you may have to do a on-line search. I think you can get nice creams by OPI and Crative nail design too. These you can find at most professional salons that do manis and pedis.
The Avon cracked heel cream has worked great for me. I use it at night and in the morning.

Gold Bond makes one, you can buy it most places (jewel, target, walgreens) It's by the foot stuff and it is in a blue tube. It's 5 or 6 bucks. It seems to work pretty well if you use it consistantly.
Good luck,

Corn Huskers Lotion is amazing. I had a big problem with dry cracked feet/heels after some long, wet, cold military training and they were better in about 2 days. Slather it on at bedtime and just let it soak in.
Hi G.:
I had the same problem too, even bleeding in the winter time! I found some amazing cream that is loaded with vitamins and cell replacing ingredients that will wipe it out with consistent use. That is the key! Using it everyday, not just when you think about it. This is from a health and wellness website if you would like more information. I like to know that the products that I put on my skin are benefiting me, not adding bad things. Let me know. I hated my feet too and I am always walking aroung barefooted. Take care of yourself too!

My mother has always sworn by bag balm, and she has the worst cracked heels and general dry skin I've ever seen. I jsut read something in some magazine that suggested using Aquaphor at night. Both of these you'd put on at night and then cover your feet with cotton socks.
If your skin is not broken, I would suggest a pedicure. Then try foot works from Avon. It is amazing. Your feet will feel like satin. Good luck.
Vicks...its the only thing you'll need. Rub it on your heels at night, put socks on and go to sleep....It is a wonderful thing!!
=) Good Luck!!
my podiatrist recommended kerasal (you can get it at drugstores or grocery store, buy house brand as the ingredients are the same). i slathered it on night and put socks on top of it. after one week, the improvement was amazing. also recommended using a pumice stone in the shower--whiched helped.
good luck!
Hello my name is M. I use vaseline it works great.
Hey G.,
I know what you mean about the cracked heels. The Body Shop carries a product that is all natural and is called Hemp Foot Cream. This product works awesome. You can shop online, or at any store and they should have it. I have never tried either of the products that you asked about. But this one is good.

Mom of 4 year old girl
I have never tried either of those products and don't know anyone who has.
What I do is after taking a shower I put neosporin on then band-aids whether its evening or at night. It helps with healing the cracks and the pain.
You don't want to get a pedicure cause you will get an infection that will cause worse pain and end you up in the doctors office or emergency room. Yes pedicures are nice but when you are a busy mom you don't have much time either.
Hi G., 100% pure shea butter formula works wonders for dry cracked skin! I moved from Oak Park and I always get it from whole foods in Oak Park. I know that there is a health food place somewhere out here, but I have not looked for one yet. Do not get shea butter lotion! It will have to be formula, rub it until it melts in your hands. I used this on my son and it took away all of the terrible spots from his chicken pox. He also had eczema and shea butter took it away completely! Good Luck P.:)
Honestly, I have the same exact problem and I tried all the cream in the world. The ONLY thing that helped was a pedicure. Yes, they soak your feet, use some oils and what not, and I haven't had a heal crack since. It has now been about 6 months. Get a pedicure....it is cheap and a good way to treat yourself.
