do not use Johnson and Johnson for one thing. My pedi said throw it out, so that should help one aspect. Then get Aveeno Baby and a small bristle brush like the ones they give you at the hospital and scub het little head. If that doesn't work then use baby oil and/or olive oil, let it soak into her head, then scrub wtih small bristle brush. It will go away at about 6 months old. I have battled with it ever since my baby was born.

I sell Arbonne, but that is not why I am writing. My son had cradle cap as well as eczema, etc., the only products I found that cleared him of both were ABC (Arbonne) Wash, Lotion, & Baby Oil.

I would be glad to send you a sample if you want to try before you buy.

Thanks & Good luck!

I sell and use Arbonne stuff (as it looks like many of us do). The ABC products are amazing because they are super moisture-rich. They also aren't scented, so it's easy on the sensitive skin. I have some samples if you'd like to try it first. I think someone may have already offered some to you, but just in case. . .message me if you need anything.

I used a little bit of veggie oil left it one for 10 min then used a fine toothed comb and all of the dead skin came right off! It was almost too easy to be true. Hope this helps

H.,

Here is what I did: First I massaged baby oil/olive oil into babies scalp, and then combed it through to get rid of flakes. I then started using Mustela Foam Shampoo for newborns(also for cradle cap). This worked like magic...I then just used the shampoo at least a few times a week. I really like the shampoo alot! It is really easy to use for newborns.
Congrats on your new little one!

My daughter had it 3 times when she was a baby - I didn't buy a special shampoo. The Pediatrician just said to put baby oil on her head and a few mins later use a soft brush (like a soft toothbrush) and scrub the head gently - and then wash the oil out of their hair. This worked each time and then it never came back.

Good Luck!

Mellaleuca's children's body wash & shampoo worked for our my 18 month old when she was a newborn. I used it once and saw a major difference. After a few more shampoos it was totally gone. Anytime I noticed her head a little dry, I would use the Melaleuca product again and her head would be perfect once again. It's a web-based company you order from, however if you ask around chances are you will know someone who has a membership & can get the products at a discounted price. The catch to being a member (like $30 a year) you have to buy a certain amount of points each month. I loved all of their products and they were natural and 100% safe! I posted something similar to this and got lots of responses. What worked for me is vaseline - work it into her hair and let it sit a few minutes and then wash it out. Then comb/brush her hair - it will loosen the flakes and you can get them out. Nothing is really going to make it go away completely - time clears it up.

There is a gentle nature cradle cap shampoo available in the baby isle, at Target I know because that is where I got it. However it smells horrible for days! My pedi also told me that I could use Selsun Blue and it would work great. I found the other stuff so I thought that would be better, but honestly, if Selsun Blue doesnt smell bad, I would go for that instead. Best of luck. Ohh, yeah, one other thing I did when my girls were younger was put baby oil on it, and massage the area with a baby brush. I used the brush this time too, it helps release the flaking. Good luck and congratulations on your newest bundle of joy! ~A.~

My twins had HORRIBLE cradle cap! Melaleuca's Naturals Melaleuca Oil Shampoo did the trick. It is awesome! All 3 of my boys had horrible eczema all over their bodies. Melaleuca's products have relieved them of so much suffering. That makes this mommy very happy! I would LOVE to give you all of the information about these fantastic products. Ridding your home of products with formaldehyde, ammonia, chlorine, & phosphates is definitely a good thing to do. You can email me at ____@____.com. :)

I used Selsun Blue with that little, soft brush they sent us
home with from the hospital. Worked like a charm.

My son had cradle cap until he about about 6 1/2 months old and the only thing we found that helped was Aveeno for Babies but we got the one that was special for ezema and we also used hydrocordizone 1% (we bought the Target brand).

H.! Hello! Yes, I can most definitely recommend something to get rid of cradle cap. Try Arbonne's Baby Care body oil. It's a miracle. The ABC hair and body wash is excellent at clearing up cradle cap too. I have so many friends/mommies who swear by it. Try it out! Let me know if you need samples of anything.

my doctor told me to try selson blue for my new born. she had it so bad it started spreading. I tried it after the second wash it was gone. use a small amount when you bath your baby and massage it real good into the scalp.( i used the little plastic brush the hospital sent home with me to wash her hair with) It works great.....the doctor did tell me in most cases it will clear up after the first to second wash as long as you get it good into the scalp.Try it..

I used Selsun Blue and massaged it in with a rough cloth and let it sit for a minute before rinsing. I did it daily for about a week and it was completely gone. Works fine, so long as you can keep it clear of baby's eyes.

Selsun Blue also worked wonders for us. I read it in one of the parenting magazines and gave it a try. If I remember right, you leave it on for about 5 minutes. It did wonders for my son after the first time and completely got rid of it after 3!!
