I am currently 29 wks pregnant with baby #2 (a boy) and I have a 3 yo daughter. I want to do a craft project with her that we can put in his room. I'm sort of drawing a blank on ideas and was looking for any suggestions. I want this to be a special project that we can do together and that she can be proud to display/hang in his room. Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

You can get a little wooden frame form the art store. Get a bag of buttons and glue them on. Using a lower temp glue gun won't burn like a very hot temp gun would.

She can color a picture and put it in the frame, like this one:

Or, do it like this, where you make her initial or a heart out of buttons in a pretty frame:

or this, love this one, just a random gluing of buttons in a fancy frame:

something like this is cute, a cork board:

What about a collage of some sort? You could get some pictures that matches the theme of his room and she can glue it on a paper or something. You could frame it or get one of those clear box frames to display it. You could also decorate some picture frames for pictures of all of baby's family...one for her, one for you and dad, one for baby. You could get buttons, or anything else you find at the craft store! You could also get some fabric markers and have her color a swatch of fabric and make it into a pillow for his room. You don't even really have to be a sewer for that! You could use the iron on adhesive binding stuff and viola! Have fun and congrats!

I would get some markers for a shirt or a pillow case. i know you could do markers or paint on a shirt for "little sister". You could get cheap picture frames and have her color to decorate them or glue little blue plastic bobby pins, or buttons or little blue storks. Good Luck!

Do you know new babies name? You could stencil out the letters and let your girl color them, put stickers on them, feathers, whatever and frame it.

Or you could print out a picture of her to put in a frame. Get a bigger frame with a mat in it. Write a little poem on the mat about being the big sister or something sweet from her to him. Let her paint the frame and put glitter on it. Glue foam hearts or whatever matches your rooms color scheme to it

I googled and found this

A BROTHERS LOVE
Submitted by: jensbooks
Author: - - PARIS
The poem reads:

A Brothers Love
A Brother is a special gift
Sent from God above
For us to cherish daily
And fill them up with love
In the beauty of a brother
It's so plain and easy to see
Just how wonderful they make your life
And how they were meant to be
Now what is it that makes a brother
It's quite difficult to say
Except he is the reason
Why your sun shines everyday

--Paris

You wouldn''t have to use the whole thing. How about just writing in cursive

A Brother is a special gift
Sent from God above
For us to cherish daily
And fill them up with love

Last year, my three-year-old painted a wooden picture frame (purchased at the local craft store) to match the colors of his room. I let her do most of it by herself. When my son was born, we took a picture of the kids together and put it in that frame and hung it in his room. It makes me smile every time I look at it and my three-year-old loves seeing her work in his room.

How about just having her paint (on canvas or just paper) in colors to match his room's theme? Then, you can hang (canvas) or have it framed (paper) so it looks like "real art" for him. Kids make some of the most "beautiful" artwork and they're always so proud to see their things displayed!

If you'd like something more advanced, how about having her help you refinish a piece of furniture (chair, bench, toybox, bookshelf, whatever) to use in his room?

If you buy the wooden letters of the baby's name...she can paint them and you can put them on the shelf. Or you can use fabric paint and she can decorate a white cloth diaper. I also had my girls to a scrapbook page for welcoming the baby and I framed it. Super cute. Good luck with the project!
