You can also try a blow dryer on the medium setting to warm it up , so like any wax it should then wipe off easily.

Hi Carrie. You might want to try taking A piece of white cloth or a paper towel doubled over and then take an iron putting it on a light warm setting. After the iron is warmed up, Place the cloth or paper towels over the crayon mark and iron on it. The crayon should transfer to the cloth or paper towels. I don't think it will hurt the wood. When my boys were little, it happened to me on my carpet and the trick worked fine. Good Luck. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.

Check the Crayola website or call them. They have suggestions for getting all sorts of coloring products off of all sorts of items. I used that when my twins colored all over the basement!! WD-40 is what they suggested to use on a painted desk that I had and it got the crayon off that and most of the other stuff they got crayon on as well. I'd double check before using that on a dining room set though.

you might try baby oil. it works wonders

My kids just got a finished oak bunkbed a couple of weeks ago, and my 3 year old colored on it. I was scared to use anything, because it's a bed I couldn't afford to replace. I used a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on it very lightly, and it got the crayon off. I cleaned it last week, and it still isn't showing any signs that it damaged the finish, so I'd say it's pretty safe to use. I wouldn't recommend scrubbing at it, just lightly wiping over it a few times until it's gone. That's the upside to the finish on it; the crayon won't adhere to it like it would to unfinished wood.

There is a cleaner you can buy at the grocery store or KMart or someplace like that. It is called "Goo Gone". It is a citrus cleaner and works very well on crayon, gum, lipstick, etc... It can be used on hard surfaces, but it does not specifically mention finished wood or you may try "Murphy's Wood Soap", Either one should help get the crayon off without harming your table. These are oil based cleaners and you don't have to scrub, just let it set for 2-3 minutes and wipe off. Wash off residue with the Murphy's or soap and water.
Follow directions on bottles.

Mr. Clean magic eraser or using baking soda, a little salt and water and make into paste. Rub lightly in circular motion w/ rag....will come right off and won't ruin finish. Wipe with water afterwards to get residue off.

Don't you just love those little buggers! Hey mom, don't forget to take a picture of that for the scrapbook and remind him of what his kids will do to HIS furniture....payback and all...LOL

Carrie - Ah! You just gotta love this age. They have no idea their disastrous ways, lol! You could try this method. I have heard it works though not personally tried it. Of course, try a area not obvious first! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

Removing crayon stains from any type of finished wood is easy with this quick method.

* Apply WD – 40 to a hidden area of the wood to test for color fastness. If it wipes clean, move on.
* Apply WD 40 in a light spray over the stained area.
* Use a clean and dry terry cloth to wipe the area clean.
* Reapply as necessary to remove the crayon.
* To wash off oily residue, use a small amount of liquid dishwashing detergent to work into the area.
* Use a soft sponge to work the soap into the wood. Use a circular motion.
* Rinse off the water, using as minimal of an amount as possible.
* Dry with clean terry cloth.
