Hi- I am desparate. I live at my parents house and my son has decided to decorate the floor of his room with a blue crayon. Does anyone have any advice on how to get this out of the carpet. It is kinda cream carpeting and he drew all over it with a blue crayon. I am scared to do anything that will make it worse. Help.
Hi J. you could try putting waxpaper down then running a hot iron over it, then spary carpet cleaner on it and clean as useal. it should come up.

J., aren't they just creative little devils? My hubby swears we have an Office Max behind the couch because our youngest Alex always seems able to find a writing utensil/crayon, marker, pencil, pen even though we try to remain vigilint = )
The absolute Best product I have found for removing crayon is called Goo Gone. It is a yellow liquid, it has a pleasent citrusy scent and you can buy it at walmart, target, heck probably even the grocery store. We used it all the time when I worked at La Petite. I know it works on hard surfaces, you might check it on a part of the carpet you can't see just to be on the safe side. Also I have never used a Mr.Clean magic eraser on carpet, but at this point I would say it was worth a try rather than leave blue crayon on cream carpet...best of luck!

My daughter did the same thing. Costco sells a product called Oil Eater. I'm not sure where else you can get it. I would try a test area first, but we just put some oil eater on a cloth, and then started wiping off the crayon. It worked like magic! It left no marks at all on our carpet.

I dont know what type of carpet you have, so I dont know if this will work in your situation or not. Use powdered laundry detergent. Put some in a bowl or coffe cup. Add just enough warm water to make a paste. Put this on the carpet and let it sit for about 5 or 10 minutes then rub with an old towel. I know it works on berber typed carpet. I spilled bright red candle wax on white berber carpet once in high school. My brother told me this trick and it worked, my dad never knew. Good luck

Dear J., I feel your pain!! My feisty chihuahua decided a black Sharpie marker would make a great chew toy on my beige frieze carpet. I researched on line and found a product called Amodex. It was kind of expensive at $7.00 for a tiny half ounce bottle, but it did work with some elbow grease. I found it at Office Max near the register. Here is the website: http://www.amodexink.com/

I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS, HOPE IT HELPS.
Try a paper sack over top of the crayon and a warm iron. Iron over the sack, moving it to clean areas as the wax melts onto the paper. Once it's just the ink, work on the stain. I used this method for a candle and it worked perfectly (royal blue candle, beige carpet). I then steam cleaned the carpet. Should work well.
If it doesn't call a carpet cleaning company, they may have an idea.
take a cloth and hot iron and iron the cloth over the crayon, it should melt it and come up on the cloth. works well for candle wax so think it would work for crayon too.
