Any input on Creme de la Creme's academic program? The facilities and socialization looked great; however, I am a little concerned about the actual learning environment.

What can I do next?

I have heard bad things about Creme, like they do not teach your children right from wrong. Your basically paying for your child to get away with what ever. Thats not what I want for my kiddos. All of my children have gone to Primrose, and have graduated into public school with flying colors. Let me know if you would like my schools info

I used to work at the Creme De La Creme in Plano. My thought is the place is very nice, but some of the three year old in my class had a hard time with the changing classrooms every 30 min. As far as the academics it really depends on the teacher, and how much they put into it. If you have any more questions please let me know. J.

Hi A.,

I was wondering the exact same thing. I enrolled my youngest (1) there in June and have been considering enrolling my 4 year old there for next year. It would be nice to have them at the same place. Would you let me know what others say about it?

PS We also live in Parker - Springhill Estates. Where do you live?

If academics are a priority, you may wish to consider The Primrose School of West Allen in lieu of Creme de la Creme. My son was enrolled in the Creme de la Creme in Richardson for almost a year, but made very little progress. I since enrolled him in the Primrose School of Breckinridge Park in Richardson and he has really excelled since making the switch. The teachers at Primrose are first-rate and the curriculum is one of the best in the area.If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I hope this helps you!

We placed our child in the Creme de la Creme. After a few days we became concerned about the educational process. We withdrew after 2 weeks after observing their teaching methods.

Here were some of our concerns:
1) Teacher qualifications/certification. Our teachers were not certified in child development/early education.
2) Class transition time. By the time they got to the next class, there wasn't much time available for learning.
3) Not enough computers for the children, even when sharing. Our class was 24 children. Result..if the child was not aggressive, they did not have access to the computer.
4) Cookie cutter approach to some subjects. Teacher completed the majority of the work and children just finished the project and then played the rest of the time.
5) No back up to speciality classes such as Spanish. If the teacher was out, the children may have gone to the class but the subject matter was not taught.
6) Outside sports activities were taught during, what we considered, premium classes such as math, computers and Spanish.
7) We also became concerned when we had a teacher tell us they wouldn't place their child in the day care.

I would recommend that if you are considering placement of your child that you require a trial attendance period, at no cost, and then sit at the television monitors to observe their activities.

Obviously, each situation is different and has to be evaluated on its own merits. It appears our children are the same ages. Unfortunately, for our child, this was not a good fit.

I looked at the Creme de la Creme in Plano and Allen. Wow!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!!!! I loved the way it looked, but my priority was for my daughter to be challenged academically, and I just didn't get that impression when I visited. When I saw Montessori schools, I knew immediately that's what my daughter needed. I felt like she would be challenged so much more there. It is just a completely different philosophy. Creme de la creme is very nice, but it just depends on what your looking for. Good luck! Thanks, A.
