There's a great book called "Fix it and Forget it" It has a huge amount of crock pot recipes, all I hav tried in it are great. Especially cranberry pork roast. Put potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots and onions on the bottom, add a 2-3lb pork loin roast. Mix 1/2cup cranberry juice, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp groung mustard, 1/2tsp ground cloves and a can of cranberry sauce. I usually make it befor bed, leave it on low and have it for dinner next evening. Delicious.

hi...pot roast is great! Just put the pot roast in with a little seasoning and sliced potatoes and carrots...it takes about 8 hrs. on the slow cooker.
I do things like Chili in the crock pot but my favorite recipe for it can also be done on the stove.
Jambalaya-I only eat chicken & Turkey so I have altered the recipe a bit. Most my recipes aren't done my exact measurements so you can alter it to your family size, etc.
Chicken Breast (cubed) Sausage (sliced)
Lg Can Diced Tomatoes Lg Can Crushed Tomatoes
1 m Onion Bell Pepper (diced)
Celery (Chopped) Stock (about 1 cup)
2tsp Oregano 2tsp Cajun Spice
2 Bay Leaves 12 tsp Thyme
Rice -cook as directed (my in-laws make it with mashed potatoes instead of rice)
Combine all ingredients but rice into crock pot. Cook to the # of hours until you eat.
Discard Bay leaves and serve over rice.
Hope it's to your liking, and of course it's suppose to have a fish of some type in, so if you were using shrimp which is very common add that about 5 minutes before you serve, I know it doens't take long to cook. Not sure if you added a regular fish how long that would need just know it's not as much as the chicken and sausage.
I take a pork tenderloin and add BBQ sauce and a can of cranberry sauce. Cook for at least 4 hours. The tenderloin literally shreds like a pulled pork sandwich. I serve it on buns.
Take chicken (boneless or bone -in) and add a bottle of Russian salad dressing and a jar of apricot jelly. Cook chicken (boneless about 3 hours, bone in about 5) depending on your timing, usually high. Chicken has a sweet and sour taste, very yummy!!
allrecipes.com has great recipes and they are rated and have reviews.

take boneless spare ribs, bbq suace and cut up some onions into rings and stick them all into the crockpot. The prok comes out really tender and lots of flavor. I dont normally like pork but this is yum! I cook tons of stuff in the crockpot from chili to whole chickens, good luck!
Hi Bonnie,
I assume you already have a crock pot, but for those looking, I have the Recipe Smart Pot Crock Pot by Rival. This crock pot has a digital recipe book programmed right in with tons of delicious recipes.

Lasagna!
Layer like you would for the oven (you can even use the non cooked noodles...with enough sauce even regular non cooked noodles work). Put on low or meduim depending on how powerful your corck pot is 5-6 hours DONE and yummy!
Also Chicken thighs or drumsticks in 2-3 cans of any kind os spaghetti sauce cook uncovered (important or the sauce will get to watery from condensation) on low for 6 or 7 hours. The Meat is so tender it FALLS OFF THE BONES. I also add some sliced onions and peppers into the sauce for added flavor. I serve over rice or pasta whatever the family is in the mood for.
Coke Roast- 1 can of regular coke 1 can cream of mushroom (or any cream of soup) with a beef or pork roast. Cooking time depends on size of roast. The mixture of coke and soup makes a delicious gravy and meat is vert tender and moist. Must use Coke- Not diet COke and not pepsi (vanilla or cherry coke ok but will change the flavor a bit). also yuo can use the same recipe but skip the coke and use the lipton oinion soup mix) you might need two envelopes if it is a very large roast.
Here is a good one that a friend gave me!!
EASY BBQ Spareribs in Crockpot:
1 large package of Country Style Pork Ribs (2 lbs)
1 Onion sliced
1 tsp. chopped garlic or more if you like garlic
6 oz. can pineapple juice
2/3 Cup BBQ sauce
1/3 cup Plum Jam - - this makes the recipe!
Coat crock-pot with cooking spray. Arrange ribs, sliced onion and garlic in the cooker. Pour pineapple juice over ribs.
Cover and cook on low 6 hours
Drain the cooking juices. Remove onions from slow cooker and discard them. In small bowl, stir together the BBQ sauce and plum jam.
Pour over the ribs and spread so that the ribs are evenly covered with the sauce.
Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes.
I use my crock pots constantly all winter long. I find a lot of great recipes on allrecipes.com.
Just enter crock pot or slow cooker in the search bar.
one that we love is stuffed peppers. in a bowl mix raw hamburg or ground turkey with uncooked rice, add a jar of salsa. Put your peppers on the crock pot and stuff with mixture, pour a jar of your favorite spag sauce on top. and turn on low for 6 hours or high for 4. enjoy!!!!
Hi Bonnie,
As I can't give any specific one recipe - I do advise you to check out www.kraft.com, www.familyfun.com, www.allrecipes.com and www.campbells.com for different recipes - (just look for the recipe icon or word to click on & have fun!)
My husband & I love to cook - and we experiment with alot of different recipes. I personally prefer to get my recipes out of family magazines (family fun, parenting, parents, cooking club of america, etc) while my husband swears by www.allrecipes.com. So have fun & enjoy your dinners!
some easy ones to look for are meatballs & sauce, pot roast, chicken & veggies, stews, soups, anything really - some sites you can actually type in the main ingredient you want to use (ex. chicken, broccoli) & they'll bring up recipes for the crock pot that includes those items.
Good luck & happy eating!!!
An all time favorite in my house and with guests .... the most SIMPLE recipe you'll ever KNOW!
Buy the thickest boneless pork chops you can find... I usually buy a pack of 2-4 depending on how many people are eating, or if you want leftovers, you can do more.... then just get either a family sized Campbell's Tomato soup or a regular can size per chop, or enough to cover completely. I pour some on the floor of the pot, put the chops in, and cover the chops with the rest of the soup. Do not add water. NO WATER. : )
Cook on low for 10-12 hours (8 hours is fine, but I find they are better if you can leave them in 10 hours).
Soup thickens only slightly, and it gets dark orangy-red... and the pork chops fall apart like fish. YUM. We usually serve this with rice pilaf and a veggie, and warm rolls. Yum!!!
Another easy one we do is stew beef with diced / stewed tomatoes and garlic. Cook on low for about 8 hours. Serve with white / brown rice - yum!
I love to use leftover meat in the crockpot- especially lamb. Throw in whatever carcus you have left over from eating out, or from dinner the night before- bones and all. Add root vegetables like cut red potatoes, carrots and beets. I throw in enough water to cover the bottom, a little olive oil, a splash of red wine and a little all purpose seasoning (or just parsley, or cumin/curry if I feel fancy). Cook for 4-5 hrs on high. I love how it can extend out the use of any meat- bones, grizzle and all! (and you get the extra minerals from those parts that are so good for you)
crockpot has a website with recipies. I also use allrecipies.com.
Bonnie,
One that my mom has made for years is kielbasa and sauerkraut. Ingredients: One link of kielbasa, one regular sized can of sauerkraut and 1 can of beer (I've used everything from Sam Adams and dark beers to Coors light with excellent results...just about any beer will work).
Cut the kielbasa into 2 - 3 inch lengths and place in crock pot. Open can of sauerkraut, drain, and cover the kielbasa with the kraut. (if you don't like strong sauerkraut, you may want to rinse out the kraut with water in a strainer, before adding to crock pot.) Pour can of beer over top of kraut and kielbasa (as it cooks, it will get more liquidy but that's what makes it tender). Cover, set on low and cook all day. The kielbasa comes out extremely tender, loaded with flavor and the entire process takes less than 5 minutes to prepare!

Hi Bonnie,
Try www.savingdinner.com Its a sub site of Flylady. You can subscribe and have weekly crock pot meals emailed! It is great! Small cost but definitely worth it!

you can find tons of crockpot recipes on www.recipezaar.com
My favorite is Thai chicken thighs in crockpot. Here is the link http://www.recipezaar.com/106499
good luck!
try roasting a whole chicken in your pot! You can season it any way you like and it takes apx. 4 hrs on high or 6 on low. The only catch is no crispy skin but that's okay since it's bad for us anyways.
Buy yourself Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook by Beth Hensperger -- tons of great recipes that aren't the usual 1 can of this, 1 lb of meat type recipes. Here's one of our faves from this book:
Thai Pork with Peanut Sauce
Cook in medium round or oval crockpot on Low for 8-9 hrs.
One 2 lb. boneless pork loin, trimmed of fat and cut into 4 pieces
2 large red bell peppers, seeded and cut into strips
1/3 cup prepared teriyaki sauce
2 T rice vinegar
1 t. red pepper flakes
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
For serving:
1/2 cup chopped green onions (white part and some of the green)
1/4 cup chopped dry-roasted peanuts
2 limes, cut to make 8-12 wedges
1. Coat the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Put the pork, bell peppers, teriyaki sauce, rice vinegar, red pepper flakes, and garlic in the cooker. Cover and cook on LOW until the pork is fork-tender, 8-9 hours.
2. Remove the pork from the cooker and coarsely chop. Add the peanut butter to the liquid in cooker; stir well todissolve the peanut butter and blend with the liquid to make the sauce. Return the pork to the sauce and toss to coat the meat evenly.
3. Serve in shallow bowls over hot jasmine rice, and sprinkle each serving with some of the green onions and peanuts. Pass the lime wedges.
We use the crock pot for frozen meatballs with sauce - just put in meatballs & 2-3 jars of sauce (we use 1 can of hunts original and 2 garlic & herb) and cook on low all day. then we just have to cook the pasta on the stove.
I also have done boneless skinless chicken with potato & carrot, cover with water & add an envelope of Lipton Onion soup mix. I have also used stewed tomato in this. Again I cooked on low all day (about 12 hours).
I had to go and buy a recipe book for my crock pot, as it was hard to find recipes. It was even hard to find the book but located one at a kitchen store. If you do a search for "Slow Cooker" the non-branded name of the device, you'll find more info online in either recipe or books to purchase.
take a really cheap cut of pork roast (pork butt..boneless) and place in crock pot with about a 1/2 botle of italian salad dressing..cook on low all day (about 6 or so hours). Remove pork and shred with a fork (actually 2 of the large 3 pronged kind)..serve on rolls with bbq sauce..or just on a plate without the roll (the way my family likes it) plain or with sauce. So easy and so good....Check out allrecipes.com for some other great ideas for crockpots or any other recipe ideas. Its my and my husbands favorite site for this type of thing!
Hey Bonnie,
Heres a good recipe for a roast. Just get a good size that will feed the family, and mabey some left overs. Fill the pot up half way with water, put a bouillon cube into the water with some slices of an oninon, and salt and pepper. Thats it! I usually start mine around 8 or 9 in the morning and then by supper it's good to go. My settings are High or Low. So I turn it on high and then an hour before supper I turn it down to Low. The Roast will be awesome, and you won't even need a knife to cut it with! My mom gave me this recipe when I first got married. My husband Loves when I make this!
Good Luck!!
