Help, My three year old daughter who is potty trained has been complaining and whining when peeing. IT has happened twice today. I asked her if it hurts but she always says no when things hurt because she wants everything to be better. Anyway I do think it is hurting her or feeling uncomfortable. Wondering if there is anything to give her or help her, She does not have a fever, should I call the doctor or wait a couple days. Just wondering if I should give her more juice and water, if that will help if is an infection starting. Thanks

I agree with all the other moms. It might be a urinary tract infection. Bring her to her doctor right away and have them do a urine test to check for any infection. My daughter had it also when she was 7 months ( we ended up in the hospital) and it recurred at 9 months on early detection. Don't wait for the fever to come because she will have a real hard time. If she has UTI they'll give her an antibiotic and she will feel relief right away. Lay off on the juice except for cranberry and coconut juice cos those are good for prevention of uti. And of course lots of water. Next thing you have to do is just work on not letting it recur. I hope she feels better.

Hello J. S:

If she is doing this when she pees, it could be a urinarty tract infection. Stop the juice for 2-3 days and give her water and milk only.

Also, take her in to see the doctor. If a child drinks too much soda, juice and colored beverages and very little water each day, the urinarty tract becomes irritated and it will burn in that area when she pees.

I wouldn't wait. I would at least call and see if your ped wants to see her. Bladder infections are nothing to mess with.
