I don't belong to Curves, but I had friends that belonged in Virginia and they loved it. The price is reasonable because it is bare bones. I don't think they even have showers. The reason that my friends loved it so much was because it wasn't intimidating at all. You had all different shapes and sizes of women so you didn't worry about how you looked. If you are really interested, I would go and see if they have any free trial offers. With the start of the new year, I can't imagine that they wouldn't.

I used to belong to a curves in Garland. I really enjoyed it, but after about 6 or 7 months, I felt like I had reached the limit of the amount of exercise I could get there. It is easy, relaxed and enjoyable. The only problem I found was that I got to where I was spending an hour there going around the circuit 4 or 5 times, but not feeling like I was really getting enough exercise. Part of the problem may have been that I enjoyed talking with the other ladies there and was not focusing enough on the exercise. It usually costs about $30-$40 per month, depending on how you pay. If you are really out of shape, then it is a good way to get you started on an exercise program.

I belonged to the Curves in Carrollton, becaues it was close to my home. I used to workout daily (lifting weights and heavy cardio), but had not done so in a long time. I joined Curves and used it 4-5 times a week. It was a good workout - you could spend as much time as you want and expend as much effort as you want. You make good friends and it is quite easy to get motivated to go.

After several months, the workout was not taxing enough for me, so I suspended my membership and joined a regular club, where I could lift weights and have more strenuous cardio workout.

I would say that Curves is a good start for a workout regimen or is good for someone who doesn't want to do intense workouts.

I loved curves, in Plano, the problem I had, was no child care.. It is worth the cost, as long as you do have coverage for kids.. Also check their times, which I thought were good, just to make sure you can make the hours!

Hope that helps
