My daughter is 2.5 and we are looking for a dance class or other activity (art, music, etc) we can enroll her in. We live in Highland Park. Pasadena, Glendale, La Canada, Eagle Rock or anything around that would be ideal.

What can I do next?

I am a dance instructor and teach ages 3-14 currently. There are quite a few studio's that offer daytime (& weeknight) classes for children under 3. Look for a "pre-ballet" class or "rhythm & movement" type class. They generally won't learn "steps" yet, but will learn things like how to move their bodies to "copy" or "mimic" the teacher, along with simple things like just the difference between pointing and flexing their toes! I think dance early on is great for not only letting them be independent from mom/dad for 1/2 hour, but it's also great for them to take a class with other kids in a group. I also personally think that learning any form of dance helps connect the mind and body and gives children especially a higher self esteem. Good luck finding a class! I hope your daughter enjoys it!

I live in La Crescenta and we go through the Glendale Parks & Rec dept. to find fun, inexpensive activities for our children. Right now my 4 year old daughter is taking ballet class at Dunsmore park and she loves it. It's $90 for 10 weeks and there are lots of other options available to small children.
