I am a dance instructor and teach ages 3-14 currently. There are quite a few studio's that offer daytime (& weeknight) classes for children under 3. Look for a "pre-ballet" class or "rhythm & movement" type class. They generally won't learn "steps" yet, but will learn things like how to move their bodies to "copy" or "mimic" the teacher, along with simple things like just the difference between pointing and flexing their toes! I think dance early on is great for not only letting them be independent from mom/dad for 1/2 hour, but it's also great for them to take a class with other kids in a group. I also personally think that learning any form of dance helps connect the mind and body and gives children especially a higher self esteem. Good luck finding a class! I hope your daughter enjoys it!
