Steamy showers and if that doesn't work theres tons of different thing it could be. I would take her in if the showers don't help she mayneed breathing treatments. Don't mess with the chest !!
Is there anything I can do about her wheezing? She hasn't had a fever and she's eating fine and as energetic as always (8 months old and already walking) She just sounds horrible when she breathes T_T.
She is better now she has a chest cold noting more I have it now too lol
We are at my husbands parents house so all three of us are stuck in one little room so I bet my hubby will be the next one to get it.

RSV is going around like wildfire right now - my pediatrician told me that. You need to take her to be evaluated right away because RSV is one of the leading causes of pneumonia. Pneumonia and 8 month olds don't mix very well...
Take her in to her doctor or to the ER. My little one had the same symptoms last week and it turned out to be RSV. We spent 2 days in the hospital getting IV fluid and breathing treatments, she needs to go in before it gets worse.
Take her in for the wheezing, my oldest gets that with colds also. But for tonight, a warm mist humidifier if you have one. Steam from the shower may work also
You may want to keep an eye on her. I work at a day care and so far, 3-4 of my infants have had RSV. It is a respiratory virus. I've heard that there are several cases of it right now. You can always have her checked out to make sure. Good luck!
Wheezing is absolutely NOT NORMAL!!! You need to take her to doc now!!!!
Wheezing needs to be addressed by a doctor, quickly before she gets worse. Call your pediatrician or take her to the ER.
As others have already commented, take her to her pediatrician asap. My daughter gets wheezy when she has congestion. She has daily "preventative" Pulmacort treatment with a nebulizer and "rescue" ?Xeponex medicine when she gets wheezy.
Hi V.---I agree that you want to watch her carefully to make sure this doesn't turn into a Big problem. I like the hot shower/bath idea or you can also get a vaporizer for her room.
Drugs and breathing treatments should be used for the shortest time possible. All have side effects. It is better to 'work' on the root of the problem of asthma and allergies and that's a weak immune system. Be sure she gets lots and lots of fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, legumes (beans), nuts and seeds. The fruit and veg are VERY important. I have serving suggestion charts for kids of all ages so you know how much she needs as to the # of servings. If you 'd like to know of a great way to get more fruits and veggies into your daughter...and the entire family...let me know and I can share a TON of ideas with you. I am taking a series of wellness classes taught by a Naturopath who has her PhD in nutrition. I love to share. Good luck. D.
She needs to see a doctor. Wheezing is easily treated by breathing treatments and some medications or lifestyle changes if it's allergies.
Breathing issues can go from okay to serious/critical in just a few minutes. Please call your doctor.
I would take her in, if shes wheezy,
My son gets like that with ordinary colds, and they have to give him albuterol breathing treatment to help open up his lungs. Make it easier to breath.
Wheezing is not good! Take her in and they will most likely give you a nebulizer.
Wheezy breathing...please take her to see her pediatrician immediately!
In dealing with my 2 children who've been sick quite a bit since they were both born, there is a difference between loose phlem in the lungs vs. wheezing. And there's a difference between wheezing and sucking for air. In any case you need to take her to the doctor. She likely has allergies and/or asthma and needs specific medication to help open her lungs to allow breathing. Or she came into contact with a nasty bug and has a bad respiratory infection which can happen without a fever, esp if it's a virus. Regardless, her pede should see her.
Hi V., It's so hard to hear our little ones struggle to breath!
You've been well encouraged to get a diagnosis, so important. When You have one, if you would like to learn how other moms have dealt with wheezing type breathing issues, in a way that would strengthen Baby's immune system I would be happy to share some good information I have.
Hope you both get comfort and rest soon!

I have a little girl who has had a couple of bouts with wheezing and we now have a nebulizer. I agree with the prior post that should be seen. You can try and take her in a steamy hot bathroom and that should help a little. Also if she starts couging a lot that is something that she could also need a breathing treatment for.
My daughter has the same problem. She takes breathing treatments when this wheezing happens. They really help her a lot. Take her to see the Dr. she needs to be seen, the dr. should give you the machine and everything to go with it. Right at home it can be done only takes a few min. and a world of difference. Good Luck too u.
Take her to a doctor right away. She could have "reactive airways" type asthma which comes on when kids get a cold. It can get really bad really quickly. If her chest and belly are pulling in at all when she breathes, it's concerning. Or if she is breathing quickly or shallowly. If you are worried about waiting around in a waiting room at the clinic or ER, don't worry. Breathing problems are right up there with major trauma, you will be put to the front of the line. Go!
Once you know how to recognize and deal with it you will know when it's an emergency and when it isn't but for now, assume it is.
If she is wheezing...get her to the Doctor ...now... she needs to be put on breathing treatments (albuterol in a nebulizer) ! The Doc will also need to check to make sure there is no congestion in her lungs..
she neds to see a dr.. she could have asthma and need breathing treatments it is hard to tell how sick babies are.
babies can get very sick very quickly.. call the dr.
