My frined had the same issue...she duck-taped her daughter's diaper (wrapped the tape all the way around the velcro-part of the diaper 2-3 times)to prevent the removal of it! ;)
Hope this helps!! ;)
My 9 month old daughter has learned how to pull apart the velcro on her cloth diaper covers. I came in this morning to find her (and her bed) completely soaked because she had undone her diaper through her pajamas sometime last night. Any advice on how to keep her from pulling the velcro? Someone has suggested using diaper covers with snaps at night and that is an option. I'm just wondering if there are any other lower cost options I could try. Thanks!
Thanks for the great advice everyone. Since we are using cloth diapers, we are trying diaper pins. I don't know why I didn't think of that since I have a 19 year old who wore those old fashioned cloth diapers with pins. But it has been 17 years since the last baby, so...
I appreciate all the advice.

Two tricks that I use with my daughter:
1. put the diaper on backwards so that the tabs are in the back.
2. Put a onesie on over the diaper and under the pj's. One more layer that is tough to get thru.
Good luck!
Put the diaper on backwards at bedtime. Eventually she will "forget" how to undo it. I would suggest Huggies Overnite Diapers. They are thick, front and back. Placing those on backwards would hold all the urine and not leak.
Just a thought,
Margaret :)
What about diaper pins?
Diaper pins for nighttime---the old fashioned way.
If you are even a little handy you could buy snaps at a store like walmart and sew them on the cloth covers you currently have. It is super simple and would cost you just a few dollars. They make metal and plastic ones. If you want to try here is how I attach snapps.
Sew one snap to one side then attach the other side to it. Put a small loop of tape on the back of the snap that isn't sewn on and close the diaper where you want it to attach(make sure the tape stays with the non snapped side). Then pull apart the snap and place it where the tape loop is. Sew this side of the snap on, test it and you are good to go. If you aren't a sewer you will only need to get 1-2 nice needles, a spool of acrilic thread, make sure you get something durable as there will be lots of tension on it when you snap and unsnap. and some snaps. Everything else is done by hand. Maybe 20 minutes for one snap till you get the hang of it, then seconds.

I am assuming you use cloth diapers, so the duct tape isn't a viable option. I am not sure they would fit backwards. They are made to fit babie so much better than disposables that I can't imagine them going on backward and still performing.
New diaper covers are not always fun to buy, but if you sold a couple of your velcro covers (sites like Cloth Diaper Nation and Diaperswappers have for sale or trade sections) you could use the funds to buy a couple of snap covers. You can also buy used, which would cut the expense.
My other suggestion is to use fleece or wool diaper covers instead of velcro and snap. If you can knit, there are free patterns (just email me and I'll point you to a few). If you sew there is at least one free pattern I know for fleece diaper covers. Nice fleece is still pretty cheap, and you can make a wool soaker out of one skein of wool yarn (about $5 at Michaels). They are wonderful to use (especially at night) and breathe much more than PUL diaper covers. My 21 month old, who can take off any clothes, can not shimmy out of her wool and fleece covers. They will last a long time. Fleece can be washed in the machine, wool you need to handwash.
HTH. My son started taking off his bumgenius right before he potty learned and a great big wool soaker on top (even on top of a pocket diaper it helps, but over fitteds and prefolds they are PERFECT!) curbed that.
My son pulled off his disposables, Velcro diaper covers and snap pocket diapers. I like the idea of putting them on backwards that may have helped us. My solution was to always keep him in a white onsie. Either only a onsie or under his jammies. He couldn't unsnap the onsie so the dipe stayed on.
Good luck!
duct tape. :-) Put some around the top of the diaper or two small pieces on the sides/tabs and see if that will keep it on.
could you put one of the old fashion plastic diaper covers on the outside of what she has on now. That might be a solution. They don't cost that much and because they are not touching the actual diaper you should be able to reuse it. Good luck!
Just a quick thought..........maybe it's time to start potty training!
I know this sounds a little weird, but duct tape works! You would probably have to switch to diposables at night...
put her diaper on backwords that has worked before for me I have an in-home daycare and I have done that with some of my daycare children, good luck
We put ours in onesies and then a pair of cotton pants. It's still cool enough to sleep in, but they couldn't reach through to undo their diapers.
You could try snaps but she might be able to get those off too. I haven't tried putting the diapers on backwards, I wonder if that would fit right?
Have you ever seen the G diapers? They are made to velcro in the back. HEB and Whole Foods sells them (as well as online.) You can get a starter set for the same price as one cover online. Then you can use the diaper part during the day if you want, but the cover can be used over your cloth diapers too. When you take the cover off in the morning, unsnap the plastic liner and rinse it off and air dry it for the next night. No need to wash the fabric cover unless it's wet!
My daughter thought that velcro sound was the funniest thing she ever heard....so I had to resort to old fashioned diaper pins and plastic pants, problem solved. I loved cloth diapers. My DD hated being wet and potty trained by the time she was a year old......good luck.
Have you tried safety pins? Plastic pants over that is pretty hard to get thru.
Try putting the covers on backwards, just a thought!
i use underwears my kids all did the same thing then you can use them later when they start potty training
I know this will sound funny but my friend ended up having to put duck tape on the outside of her childs diaper when she found her and the walls covered in poo. I would try that and see if that helps stop the pulling the diaper off.
