call the texas workforce center
Hi ladies,
I'm newly single and I was wondering if any of you ladies know anything about state daycare asstitance. I am searching for a job but I can't work until I have a place to leave my daughter, can you get asstitance while looking for a job or do you have to have one already? How much do they pay of the daycare fee? Where do I go to apply? Any other info about this would be great, TIA

A.,
I just found a really nice Christian Preschool called Kid's Kingdom in Frisco.
Tues, Wed & Thursday 9-3. $180.00 a month
Call Ms Alicia Head teacher @ ###-###-#### Ms Molly is the Director ###-###-#### (she is on vacation right now)
My girl's really enjoyed the summer program, it ends this week.
The last time my friend looked into it you had to have atleast a part time job,or be a full time student to be put on the waiting list. A year ago I knwo the wait list was atleast 6 months long and you had to maintain your job the entire time. You had to call in monthly or else you would be kicked off the list. I know calling 211 will give you more info. I myself have never done it but have a few friends that have benefited from it. Good Luck
I think if you call 411 they can answer questions or get you in touch with the right people. I don't know where you live, but if you're in Denton County call CCA (Christian Community in Action). They can help you with the CCMS stuff and any questions you have, as well as other things you may need help with. They are also partnered with First United Methodist Church of Lewisville and have a daycare for lower income families. I worked at the daycare (New Hope Learning Center) for over 4 years from the day they opened (they've now been open for about 4 1/2 years). They mostly have CCMS families. They've actually opened one in The Colony also.
Call CCMS and apply over the phone. When I was on it about 7 years ago, I only paid $98 a month at Kindercare for my 2 year old.
I think the YWCA in downtown Ft Worth has a subsized child care program. You might call them and see what the qualifications are for enrolling a child. You could also call 2-1-1 . it is a social service clearing house and they may have some additional suggestions for you. You might also see if you could get a job at a daycare center. good luck!
