Okay Moms, here is a question for you. I have a problem with my arm pits getting wet throughout the day. I have tried several different deodorants and still am having this problem. Do you all have any suggestions as to why this is happening and what kind of product to use? It seems like this is a problem that has just started recently. I remember being able to use any kind of deodorant and never having this problem. I am getting frustrated because I am tired of having that wet spot every time I lift my arm and my white shirts have that yellow spots that don't come clean. Its kind of embarrassing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Same here, and mine was accompanied with smell. :( I finally switched to a perscription deodorant. I recommend seeing a dermatologist for a perscription.

I know exactly what you are going through....I've had the problem since I was a teen. I don't sweat anywhere except under my arms, and I was told that everyone has primary sweat glands, and mine are under my arms. I was told about a deoderant called "Certain Dri" that is now available in any store. It's usually under all the other deoderants towards the bottom, and you can only use it at night. It only takes about 3 or 4 days to start working, but after using it about 2 weeks, you may be able to use it every other day rather than every day. I love it! I don't have the embarrassing yellow marks, or wet shirts everyday. I think it's a far better alternative to Botox...I hope this helps you! Good luck!

I had the same problem and was SO sick of it. I found a prescription strength deodorant that you can order online. http://www.stopsweat.com/item/Maxim
You just apply it every other night before bedtime and it does it's work while you sleep. It has totally worked for me! No more stained shirts and embarrassing wet marks. It comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, so if it doesn't work for you, just return it for your money back.

I have always used the Men's unscented Mitchem gel. I love it and never have an issue with too much wetness, etc.

My 15 yr old daughter is very active and I think we tried everything on the shelf until she tried Dove Clinical. She won't use anything but that now. It is a little pricier but I have not noticed any staining on her clothing and she is happy (not self conscious).

Good luck!

You do need an anti-perspirant for the wetness. The person who clarified is correct that all deodorant does is prevent the body odor.

Since this is a new issue, I'd recommend asking your doctor to make sure you haven't had any changes in your hormone levels.

You can now buy clinical strength deodorants at every store. I found they worked best for me in the summer. But, you can also talk to your doctor to see if there is a prescription available based upon your own needs.

Baby powder has always been a good product for absorbing wetness, but I doubt it would have any effect if the problem is as severe as you indicate.

Try SureDry. It is an antiperspirant that you put on every other night. It might tingle/sting if you have sensitive skin or just shaved but that goes away with use. I was the sweatiest person and now I can even workout and my underarms stay dry. It is usually toward the bottom shelves at any drugstore (I get mine at WalMart). I hope this helps.

The only thing that I have found that works for me is the Clinical Strength options that have been mentioned. Occasionally even that doesn't work still. I have just found one of the crystal products that someone else mentioned as well (a friend recommended it), so maybe I'll give that a try as well.

If you've tried all the over-the-counter brands, seek help from your doctor and maybe try prescription strength.

Deodorant just helps the smell.
Anti-perspirant stops the wetness.

try, after applying deodorant, to pat some baby powder over your deodorant too under your arm pits. That is what I do. It helps.

All the best,
Susan

Go to a health food store and buy a deodorant crystal. It's the best product I've ever found and you're not absorbing a bunch of chemicals in the process. My husband and father-in-law use one too and they both swear by it.

Good luck!

If this is a sudden change, you might want to see your doctor. It could be a hormone change.

all I have to say about deodorant, is that you should avoid "Alluminum" something or other (which is the main ingredient on most products) THE ONLY ONES i have found that do not have that is OLD SPICE for men and ADIDAS for women.. but again- just check.. its just a bad toxin you don't want going in your skin.
**To clean the spots, there are certain sticks sold in laundry aisle that should work...

Several years ago I was having major issues with sweating and being a poor college student I relied on the internet as my source of why this could be happening and I found out that if you have an allergy to caffeine it could cause excess perspiration. I didn't cut out caffeine out all together, but I cut back and that helped a lot! It didn't solve the problem entirely and a few years after that is when they came out with the clinical strength deoderant. There's a couple different brands that make it, I like both. Good luck!

Clinical Secrect or Clinical Dove. They are a bit more expensive, but they will have a coupon in the sunday paper every few weeks for $1.50 to $2.00 off. It is the only thing that has helped me from pitting out!

Do you drink a lot of caffeinated drinks? This may be triggering the extra perspiration and ineffectiveness of your deodorant. Secret Platinum is what I recommend but also your body may be rejected the aluminum in your antiperspirant. Maybe cut it out for a few days and then go back to using it. Good luck!

I went through dozens of deoderant brands in college. I too was a serious sweater, but actually only in one armpit (my mom is the same way :)
I found DOVE to be the best. I was surprised that such a "girly" brand would do the job, but it did. It was even better than the Mitchem stuff which is expensive. I was on prescription antiperspirant for awhile, it was awful, it chaffed my skin and burned so bad.
So Dove has been working for me so very well for years (though now I have switched to the aluminum free rock and it's going Ok)
One thing that has helped me immensely is to limit caffiene. My issues are all but gone not that I've given up my college addition to Diet Pepsi. Good luck!

There is actually a perscription that works amazing for this. I got it years ago when I had the same problem, it was called DrySol. I'm not sure if that same brand is out there still, but ask your doctor because I'm sure there is something similar. It's a liquid rub on type stick that your doctor can prescribe. It's worth it!

For the wetness you need an anti-perspirant, not a deoderant. Deoderant is just for smell.
For anti-perspirant I use Dry Idea, works great for me.

Try Certain Dri. It definitely worked for me and now I don't have to use it anymore. It's found with all of the other deoderants. Make sure you read the directions because it can cause some discomfort if you use it after shaving. Works wonders! Good luck!

You may have what I have. It's called hyperhidrosis. It's the abnormal perspriration of the sweat glands. I don't stink but I sweat under my arms a lot and it is embrassing. You can try using the clinical deodorants that are out there by secret and dove. You need to follow the directions and put it on at night. However if that doesn't work you can ask your doctor for aluminum chloride. It is a liquid that you put on at night and don't have to apply anything during the day. It was what helped me.

G.,

Try Lemon as a deoderant. But not after you shaved. If you are going to shave, shave the night before.

Good Luck

I did the same thing, I think it is just a result of the altered hormon levels. I refuse to use anything with aluminum in it, so I use some w/o thats made by melaleuca. It works most of the time :)
