H.,
Congrats on the new baby! I do have some advice that may help you. I, too have problems tolerating hormonal birth control. After speaking with my OB, we decided on and IUD called Paragard. This is a copper IUD as opposed to Mirena, which is hormonal. The Paragard is insterted by the OB (I recommend that you get it done during your period. I know it sounds gross, but it's most comfortable for you). It lasts for 10 years, unless you decide to have more children, then you just have it removed, and there is NO waiting period before you can get pregnant again. The Mirena is good for 5 years, and the other perk of Mirena is that you may stop getting your period. You will continue your period with Paragard...the first 2-3 months your period will be heavier than usual, but I think it's a small price to pay for piece of mind...not to mention NO WEIGHT GAIN, and sanity! I hope this helps, and feel free to ask any other questions that you may have. Good Luck!
