After a very bad experience with a new OBGYN in June/July, I am looking for a new doctor in my area. Does anyone have a great OB that actually takes their time, answers questions, and treats you like an intelligent human being? Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

What a wonderful response! Thank you all so much for your suggestions. We are fairly new in town, so I am not super comfortable asking my new neighbors who their gyno is. : )

My experience with my current OB group is not quite over, I have to go back for a follow up in August, so I'm not ready to "out" them yet. When I am free and clear and in the care of one of your great suggested doctors, I will gladly tell about who was responsible for my poor care.

Thanks again!

I just saw a new OBGYN in Naperville a couple of weeks ago. She was very nice, not in a rush, and took time to answer all of my questions. I am pretty picky when it comes to doctors, and I liked her instantly. Here is her info.

I was REALLY happy with Rush-Copley OB/GYN. I met everybody except I think one of the doctors during my pregnancy. I REALLY liked Dr. Richard Tom, Dr. Andrea Jones, Dr. Bernardita Druhan, and the midwives Karen & Noreen. These individuals are all very kind, understanding, and GREAT! They are a little bit West of Naperville (East side of Aurora). But I really like that group. Best wishes to you!

You can see if your insurance covers Naperville Women's Healthcare. Both Drs. Flannery and Lucaric are terrific. They are located on the Edward Hospital Campus.

I have used the Edwards Womens Center for Health for the last two pregnancies and for about 10years now. I just love everyone there except for one doctor Dr. Olsen. He is a love him or hate him type of guy and I just hate him. They have five doctors on practice 3 female and two male and Dr. Anderson also runs the OB nurses at Edwards Hospital.
They are in Naperville on Hobson and I think Naper Blvd. Also have a practice in Bolingbrook and One in Plainfield near Joliet.
Hope this helps.

J. - sorry to hear about your experience. I have the absolute BEST OBGYN, but he is out of Gottlieb Hospital in Melrose Park. I moved out to Naperville a few years ago, and will not go to anyone but Scott. I've been through five surgeries with him, not to mention obgyn medical attention for ten plus years. If you are willing to drive to get to him, you'll never change doctors. His name is Dr. Scott Pierce and his number is ###-###-####. Good luck in your search!

I see a man in naperville who is very caring, and listens to me. He even goes as far as talking about the things that most doctors just don't talk about. Anyway.. his name is Michael Pourtabib.

Would west Npv/east Aurora area be ok? I also had a horrible experience with a famous hospital and a OB associates by the same name - in Naperville. Switched to Dreyer Medical Group - Dr. Sandra Harris (she delivers at Rush or Provena). She is very very caring, patient, respects your individual needs and devotes her time to answer questions. I would highly recommend her. My only regret is I wasted my time with the other OB for so long - should have switched to Dr. Harris much earlier.

Hi J. -

Dr. Tara Anderson is the nicest, most attentive doctor I've ever had. On my first visit, she took me into her office before the exam to find out a little about me and find out if I had any questions. It was nice to actually have a conversation while still in my clothes! :)

I LOVE my OB, his name is Dr. Chris Olson. He is charming and just wonderful. My husband loves him too and always wants to come to my appointments. I delivered all 3 kids at Edward and he is the Chief/Medical Director at the Edwards Women’s Center for health. The practice has 5 doctors (2 men 3 women) and I think they now have 4 locations. All my friends also go there and we all think they are great. Their main Naperville office is crazy busy so I go to the Bolingbrook office (off Weber road/Boughton) where I never have to wait. This is their web site. http://www.edward.org/services/womenscenter.asp I see Dr. Chris Olson. Their phone in Bolingbrook is ###-###-####

Hi J.

You may want to try Dr Kim Wright out of Edward Hospital. I know she also works out of Good Samariatin. I have heard great things about Dr Megan Flannery (I'm not sure if that is how you spell her name), also out of Edward Hospital. Good luck. Can I ask who you went to that you had a bad experience?

I agree with the other woman who recommened Dr. Pourtibib, it is the greatest, I've been seening him for years, in fact I just saw him last week. Hes is easy to talk to, and cares. I drive over to Napervill to see him from Joliet. I have a condition the doc's down here couldn't figure out what it was or what to do about it, a friend told me about he, I called went in he knew right away want the problem was and got it fixed, and keeps a good watch on it as it's something that that can flare up easily. He always makes me feel good, I'll never change doctors, he has me spoiled. He one of the few doctors that really care.

I just started going to Dr Kimberly Wright because my doctor retired. She was so wonderful. She takes so much time with you, I didn't feel rushed and I didn't feel stupid about the questions I asked. There are other docs in the practice too but I haven't met them yet. She sees patients at Edward and Good Sam. She is located just off of 75th Street not far from Book Rd.
