I live in Breckenridge Hills next to St. John but work in the city clost to Vandevender. I have a tight budget and am single raising 3 kids. Does anyone know where I can find a good, affordable, daycare?

What can I do next?

C.,
how old are your children? I had a wonderful in-home daycare provider that I used till she moved to the Florissant area. I don't know if that would work into your drive but she was great and she was what I considered reasonable (much less expensive than any daycare or other in home provider that I looked at). she used to only keep kids till they were age 4, and since I don't know how old your children are, I don't know if that would work for you, and she very well might be willing to work with you. She is wonderful. I feel very confident referring her to you. Let me know if you would like her phone number to contact her.

C., are you looking for all 3 children and what are their ages? Also I don't what affordable is in your situation but I run my own childcare and preschool out of my Kirkwood home. I charge 30$ a day, this includes their lunch, an afternoon snack and their preschool curriculum I use with them in the morning. My hours are Mon-Fri 7:30am to 5:30pm year round. I have excellent references and I currently have openings. If you are interested you may call me at ###-###-#### for more information or email me at ____@____.com

Hello I just wanted to let you know of a place I called the Child Daycare Association. They are located downtown and will send you a list based on where you live or work by. I found them to be very helpful and they list the costs of each place on their list. It is totally free and they will mail or probably fax the list to you.

I have a wonderful lady I currently use, but she only accepts children up through 2 yrs. old. I live in Manchester and am planning on putting our son at Love-n-Laughter preschool this summer.
Good luck to you and hopefully they will give you some good contacts.

I don't live in that area so I don't know. My best advice would be to check the babysitting ads in the newspaper for a sitter who lives in your area and who works out of her home. They are usually more afordable versus organized daycares. If you know any moms who live near you, ask who they use. Also, church daycares are good and usually a little more afordable. If you don't have a newspaper, you can view the babysitting ads online at www.stltoday.com. I hope this helps! Take care! Kathy

Have you tried the CDCA for referrals? http://childcarestl.org/ You can get a referral list off the website or call and speak to a helpful counselor. In my recent searching, I have found that private homes provide the cheapest care, but daycare centers can often give hefty discounts for multiple kids.
CDCA can also help you get subsidies if you qualify.

Good luck and God bless single moms!!!!

Hi,
Have you looked into Childgarden daycare which is located near Vandeventer and Forest Park blvd. I don't have their number handy, but they are very affordable and will work with you regarding finances. Good luck,
