Hi A.,
You're looking at conwstipation. You can clear this up by adding fruits, veggies and fiber to her diet. There are numerous cereals (oatmeal) which have fiber.

What would it mean if my daughters poop was small little balls? Does that mean she is constipated? Or dehydrated? Any thoughts?

My son had/has those and he also has hard poop (He is only 3 months old) the doctor told me to give him pear juice...it helps out a lot! I only give him 2 oz,warmed up a day if your daughter is older than increase the amount but if she is younger I would ask your doctor. His poops are a lot softer and there arent any of those little balls in there! If she is over a year you can let her drink prune juice!
Hi A.:
It means both....try giving her some water throughout the day depending on her age, in a sippy cup or in a bottle. Juice tends to constipate.

It means she's constipated...not necessarily dehydrated (but could be). Im not sure how old your daughter is, but the best way to get those BM's softer is fruit...prunes work wonders. So do pears, peaches, apples, pineapple...stay away from bananas and rice. If you are using rice cereal, switch to baby oatmeal and mix it with prune juice...the grown up kind (100% juice) not the baby juice, which is too watered down already. And always, always push the water intake! We have been through this, trust me! My son finally had to be on Miralax, but that was as he got older.
Consitpation. My son has had it since he was born and has to be on a prescription laxative. Try a teaspoon of miralax in about 4-5 ounces of milk/juice....it'll take a couple days to work, but once it does she'll be going like normal again.
