Diet Buddies?

Before I had my daughter I was about 150 lbs (down from 190). Well I got pregnant and the weight came back on. I have a gym membership but don't go because it takes time away from my daughter - she's in daycare almost all day and I crave my time with her. I know what I need to do to lose weight, I'm having a hard time getting motivated. I really want to be thin again and lose the weight I have now. Anyone interested?

What can I do next?

I had a membership at 24hr before too. I used to go to school and work all day. My son would be in daycare all day then I would get on the bus and go to 24hr fitness in Meyerland. But, this didn't last very long due to the fact I would not get home till 10:00 at night and my son needed me to actual cook him a healthy dinner and I couldn't do that at the gym. This left little time for myself. Now things have changed I have freed up my schedule so that I can have time for myself as well as my son. I have been eating right and exercising but, like all the other response I lose my motivation at times. It would be nice have a workout buddy. I have seen the new LA fitness it seems nice. I know there is one on HWY ____@____.com

I'm in the same boat as you. I used to have a membership at Spring Fitness. Never went because I was busy with my business, and the rest of the time spent with the kids. They see enough of daycare. I didn't like Spring Fitness too much anyway. You have to feel comfortable going there.
Before I met my husband I went to 24 hr Fitness off of Westheimer. I liked that they had a nice daycare in the gym. It looked like a mini Discovery Zone. My daughter loved going to the gym with me so she could play at their daycare. There is this new LA Fitness that just opened up. They are close by for me, I am going to check them out. It would be nice if they had a daycare like that particular 24 hr Fitness had.
I was wearing a size 8 before I had my first 2 kids. After I had them I went to a size 10 (130lbs.). After working out at 24 hr Fitness I made it to a size 8 again (110 TO 115 lbs.). Now after my third child and last I am a size 14 at 170 to 175 lbs. That sucks!
I have to get back to the gym. No if, ands, or buts about it.

Hi W.! I got up to 175 pounds when pregnant. I was very committed to losing it and am down to 122 now. The baby is 13 months. Losing weight has to be something that you are totally ready for. You have to be willing to go to any lengths to achieve it. Since you feel that she is already in daycare enough, you could try working out at home. The best time is in the morning but I'm sure you'd have to wake up very early! Do you have cable? We have FitTV on channel 117. If not you could try DVD's. If you're low on funds you could try the library or thrift stores. It can be done if you want it bad enough! Also, your weight loss results from 80% diet. Stay away from transfats, sugar, white carbs, and fried foods. Read all ingredients, nutitional facts, and control your portions. I will help you in any way I can!

Try walking with your daughter. She will probably love being outside and you'll get the benefit of spendinhg time with her and walking while pushing her in a stroller!

Might I suggest a new program I bought off the Internet! It's awesome and you can chart your progress. You can add new recipes, foods, or log fast food that you purchase when you are out. You set a goal and then it adjusts your calorie intake based on your metabolic rate. I LOVE this program! It's called DietPower and you can download a free trial at www.dietpower.com If you enter my name when you buy it you can save $5 and then if you want to be a dealer once you buy it you can make money by recommending it! I really love it and would buy it again in a heartbeat. It keeps track of your nutritial quota too and excercise that you do.. so it gives you a daily grade like 80% or 95%. It is actually addictive and we are enjoying it a lot. I lost 7 pounds in 3 1/2 weeks but I'm on a slow paced diet because only needed to lose 10 pounds. It's a great program and I highly suggest you at least do the 15 day trial. Mention my name "W. Windrich" and receive $5 off. Good luck!

I am right there with you girl!!!! I have a 16mo. old son and it has taken me this long to go from a size 14 to a size 12. I get on a great workout and eating schd. and then somethings happens and I get off track and my motivation goes out the window! Right now my goal is to loose 30lbs. My other problem is the lack of money...so what ever food I can afford is what I eat. I try to eat as healthy as possible on a limited budget, but it doesn't always work out that way. It always helps to diet with a friend. If you are interested my email address is ____@____.com and if your on myspace it's www.myspace.com/rainngirl Hope to hear from you soon.

I have gained about 30 lbs. I live in the Montrose area, but I have a 24 hour gym membership. I have been thinking about going right after I pick my little girl up from daycare, she loves the gym. If you want to go with me I would be more than happy to try to motivate you and maybe you could motivate me as well.

I feel the same way. Before I had my twin boys I was fit and since then I have not been able to lose the weight. I have a hard time getting motivated as well. I was going to the gym for awhile and wasn't losing any weight and my motivation went down the drain. Not only that but being gone at school all day and then going to the gym and later doing homework was really taking time away from my kids. I would love to have someone to partner up with to lose the weight and keep me motivated. I am 22, a student, married, and have twin 27 month old boys. If I sound like someone you would like to partner up with write back and we can talk some more.

girl I just got my bean and the flex 10 and I am loving it! I am not into exercise gimmicks but this thing really does work. We use them at my kickboxing class and got great results. BTW, kickboxing is one of the best forms of totally body conditioning you can do and anyone no matter the size can do it. If you use it 3 times a week for 20 minutes you will see results. It may take 9 months to a year but you will see the results. The key to anything is to stick with it even if it takes a year. If you call in instead of ordering online you can purchase a 2nd workout dvd in addition to the one that comes with it. It is always good to have variety. I went ahead and got the the flex 10 too b/c we also use resistance bands where I work out and that, along with my own body weight, are the only forms of resistance I have ever used. The flex 10 can be adjusted from 2 to 150 pounds. I just love this thing and threw out my core fit ball. www.bean.com
I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids and I don't own stock in this product. This is an honest real person recommendation from a normal gal who has gotten great results from the bean.
