Diet for Loosing Inches

I had my 3rd child 6 1/2 weeks ago. I am still about 6 or 7 lbs which I am not to worried about. I am frustrated with the inches. I am dying to get back in my old clothes but my hips and waist are the issues. I have been walking here and there, but with 3 kids that is not always an option. I got a dvd, "Walk at Home" which I did today and love it. I am a pretty healthy eater. I stay away from the Hydrogenated oils, High Fruitious Corn Syrup, Transfats and such. I eat a pretty balanced diet. I do have a bit of a sweet tooth, however I don't feel like I over do it. With all of that said, My question is does anyone know of a diet that will help me kick start and get rid of these inches? I am good at maintaining my weight if I can just get this off. My husband has done the grapefruit diet before and really lost ALOT! However I am breatfeeding and I need more of a well balanced diet. Plus I am pretty sure me drinking acidic drinks bother baby's tummy. I am willing to stick to a diet if anyone knows of one that really works. Thanks in advance!

I've done Weight Watchers since December and breastfed the entire time. I also exercise at least 3 times a week with Stroller Strides. I've lost 5 inches from my waist and more from my hips. My husband has lost 67 lbs now, My in-laws have lost about 100 pounds combined, and my parents have lost about 70 pounds combined. WW works!

I also recently took up running (training for a 5k) and I lost another inch in just a few weeks of running!

Congratulations to the new addition to your family!

I have talked about my weight loss plan before on Mammasource. It is healthy. Like you, I have a bit of a sweet tooth. The meal shakes on this plan totally satisfy me in that department. I do not diet, but I drink these.

Yes, you lose inches! You will also maintain your muscle. My husband is on it and loves it. Since you are breast feeding you would want to tweak it just a bit...for example, a different supplement regiment than what is called for and calorie intake would be a bit higher. You may want to skip the tea that is offered as a energy boost during the day...unless your doctor gave you the go ahead. I'd be glad to talk to you about it. This is truly a healthy program. Keep up the exercise, and choosing the right foods. These things combined will get you there!

your body has just redistrubuted the weight, that's all. you should stick with the walking, either tape or otherwise, and add some light toning with hand weights (even soup cans will work). your diet sounds fine. give it time! ignore all fads and pills. they don't work.

the most sound diet I've ever studied was the Zone diet by Dr. Barry Sears, it is all about balanced eating. I've read several of his books and highly recommend it, read "Mastering the Zone" it will get you going, "the Zone" is good but very scientific so if you want all the scientific details you can read it but if you just want the program read the first one.

if you are into organics and cleansing go with Fat Flush Plan by Ann Louise Gitleman she has taken the Zone ones step further with her plan, she is also recommended by Dr Barry Sears, I've used her plan and it is amazing, for more info email me off the boards and I'll walk you through it.
