Dinner Options for 15 Month Old

Hello. I would love to have a few other options to make my 15 month old for dinner.

He loves waffles, so I sometimes give him a waffle for dinner. Spaghetti, meatballs and chicken nuggets. When we go out for dinner he does enjoy hamburgers, however it doesn't seem like I can make them that well to his liking. The only veggie that I can get him to eat are peas.

Any other good ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Keep trying with the veggies, it takes 10-12 exposures sometimes. Try different ones that you may never have thought of. My kids love roasted beets and parsnips.
At that age, my older one was eating all kinds of ground meats and salmon. Lots of fruits and veggies too. My younger one is challenging; he has feeding delays so is mostly still on baby food at 18 months.

Hi,

My 18 month old has been picky for a while.I remember my older daughter being the same so I am more relaxed this time and I hope she will cruise through it. I generally give her anything in finger food form, sometime she eats it sometimes she doesn't. A nutritionist told me to keep putting things in front of her and she may well try them because they look familiar after a while, this was the case with carrots and brocolli actually! I usually try to vary the way I cut certain things aswell. My daughter really loves cucumber sticks ( skin off) I often cook up casseroles some veggy only and some with chicken turkey or beef, I mash them in with brown rice or soaked cooked barley.I also give her baked potatoes with cheese, cauliflower with cheese and pasta sauces where I purée the veggies in a tomato sauce a great way of secretly slipping in those 5 a day veggies!.I give her sliced turkey and chicken and she loves that as opposed to chunks or nuggets, its not so dry.Pasta sauce with cod mashed in is a great way of getting some protein in and its pretty bland like the fish finger sticks.Scrambled eggs is a nutritious meal and wheat toast bulks it up a bit, I also do cheese omelettes.I cannot for the life of me get her to eat baked beans though!Hope that helps,

S.

My daughter is 15 months old as well and she loves fish sticks, baked tilapia, and salmon. (I give this to her only once or twice a week at most).

She also likes eating corn on the cob, black eyed peas, lentils, and different types of pasta (penne, bow-tie, etc).

She absolutely LOVES baked sweet potatoes and warm pita bread with hummus. She used to like vegetables a lot but has become kind of picky. I like the idea of putting cheese on her vegetables. That might just work...

Good luck!

If I was you, I'd try to get him eating what you are eating, and skip having to make two meals. The more specialized his meals are, the more picky he is going to be.

If he likes cheese, try adding that to other veggies, like broccoli. Trader Joes has a few good mixed veggie frozen options too. I'd try those and add some cheese.
