How do you ladies get dirt stains out of clothing? My daughters tend to get just dirty when they play outside. They come in with dirt in the knees of their pants and the younger one has dirt on the seat of her pants. When they come out of the wash, they still have dirt stains. It's not grass, or some weird kind of clay or mud. Just your average dirt. What's the secret to keeping those areas of the clothing clean? Maybe one of you moms that has a child in baseball or softball. I know those uniforms get dirt on them. How do you keep them looking clean?
I swear by Spray and Wash Stain STICK. The trick is to leave it on at least over night before washing. Longer is better. I keep one in the kids' bathroom and when they have a stain, I rub it all over it and toss into their laundry basket. It works on dirt as well as food stains.
My mom gave me a recipe for a "miracle mix"....1 cup water, 1/2 cup peroxide and 1 teaspoon liquid dish soap.
Mix it together and put it in a spray or squeeze bottle. I just use it like a pre-wash stain treatment and it works on almost everything.

I use Shout and it works great, on everything. But my kids aren't the play rough type, so it's possible you're experiencing more intense dirt stains than I am.
I also use the laundry care line from Melaleuca. I absolutely love the Pre-Spot (pre-treater). It gets everything out of my kids clothes; chocolate, grease, and dirt. My little girl gets dirt everywhere and the Pre-Spot gets it out.
I use the EcoSense line of laundry products from Melaleuca. There is a detergent, a brighter(that traps stains and keep them from redepositing on other clothing), fabric softener and a pre-spot.
We use cloth diapers and my husband noticed the difference and was excited and showing me how clean the diapers were. lol
We have not had any stain we have not been able to get rid of.

I really like the Oxy spray that comes in a blue bottle - it's the only thing that's worked on my son's stuff. Helps if you can treat it quickly.
I use Shout. It works great, even on my husband's white baseball uniform pants. The secret to Shout is to put it on, and NOT start the laundry until about 10 minutes later. Let the Shout start working before you start the wash. Also, you can use any temperature of water and the dirt still comes out.

I have three sons and I buy OxiClean powder in 15-pound boxes and it keeps things looking good. It's an enzymatic cleaner and "eats" anything organic, so it will take care of dirt, barf, food stains, grass, etc. I use a scoop in almost every load. I get it at South Ogden Costco and I couldn't do without it.
Oxi can be hard on delicates (like, say, my hubby's necktie) so I use the Spray and Wash in the RED bottles occasionally for a delicate but challenging stain. I agree with Dita that it needs to pre-treat for a few minutes before washing.
OxiClean is the best! I use it on the dog's blanket, yucky bathmats, soccer uniforms, you name it. It's about $15 for a huge box and that lasts a couple months. It will help you get the grunge out for sure. Best wishes!
I have a brush that the hospital gives you to scrub up before surgery-the soft plastic bristle brush. It's the same texture as the Clorox bleach pen brush end. I put Shout on the stain, scrub it gently to make sure the Shout gets in all of the fibers & wash like normal. I shake each item out & check while I'm loading the dryer to make sure the stains came out. If not, I hang dry & throw them in again. The nasty stuff that I know will take a few washes, I wash first so I can throw it in the next load(s) until it comes clean. I was using the Walmart version of Tide, but it just wasn't getting stuff as clean as I wanted, so I now use a mix of Cheer & All (the stainlifter ;)-I've got a big jug & I buy a concentrated bottle of each & pour both into the big jug.

My favorite product, (because it works and not because I sell it), is Nature Bright Laundry Boost & Stain Remover.
I just washed my husband's 2 dirt & sweat stained baseball caps with an extra soak of the Nature Bright, and the caps are stain free. I've used this product with old stains that had been washed several times, and it gets them out.
