I went to a dermetologist for this issue on my face. It costs about $100 for the cream and 4 months commitment to apply it twice a day. Then staying out of the sun and protecting the skin while being treated. Is there any easier method to help this discoloration . It is located on my forehead. I am so self consious of it. I don't know if any of you have some remedies to use or if these over the counter creams will work for aging skin..... any advice ?

I just read a book by Dr. Mitra Ray titled, "Do you have the guts to be beautiful". She tells exactly how to get rid of wrinkles, spots, how to care for your face. her website is FromHeretoLongevity.com AND another book I love is by Erica Angyal "Gorgeous Skin in 30 Days" her website is gorgeous-skin.com
please see my website for the fruit and veggie capsules they both recommend!
Beautiful skin is a result of what you eat more than what you put on your face!
Dr. Mitra Ray says the spots are waste deposits!

Did the dermatologist suggest laser treatment? I had redness in my skin that creams did nothing for, but he did one laser treatment and the redness is gone. It wasn't cheap ($250.00), but it was quick, painless and it worked. If your dermatologist doesn't offer that kind of treatment you might want to get a second opinion.
Good luck!

Your skin is your body's largest organ. EVERYTHING you put on it is absorbed into your systems and when your products contain dangerous chemicals and harmful synthetics they can do more damage than repair in the long run. If you are interested in an all-natural (ie: no chemicals, no preservatives, no synthetics) alternative you could check out Lluvia Camu C Serum. It is a skin repair serum made with camu camu and sangre de drago - two very powerful anti-oxidants that regenerate tissue and produce collagen. It costs about half what your cream would plus all the ingredients are beneficial to your body. I use it daily and have for over four years now. Before that I would break out constantly and have trouble healing. My skin is exposed to Arizona sun daily throughout the year and even though I am already over 40 I am now told how young I look and how nice my skin is. If you want to check it out visit my website: www.shootingstarherbs.amazonherb.net and feel free to contact me with any questions.

Hi S.,

You can try "Cell Food" gel (http://www.cellfood.com/gel.htm). I've been using it for sun spots on my left cheek (from driving) and it works great! I've also be told that "Silver Shield" gel (http://www.naturessunshine.com/us/products/catalog/produc...) works well, too. Although, I have not yet tried it.

Good luck! :)

S.....when I was in my 20's I had such a discoloration above my upper lip, it looked dirty all of the time. My mom kept telling me to wash my face. People did stare a bit. It was caused from birth control I found out later, and being in the sun. Well, I was a sun worshiper, and wasn't smart enough to not put the tanning lotion there! Duh!
I went and got Esoterica at the pharmacy. It worked wonders and fast. Yes, I still stayed in the sun, but quit putting tanning lotion there, and used Esoterica daily for a couple of months. Recently, got it again, I am now 52, for little age spots on my hands. I went with my sis to find it since she had spots also. She questioned the Porcelana, but I always go with what is tried and true! It was about $6 at CVS.
Good luck with whatever you try! It definitely is fixable at a cheaper cost.

I understand how you feel, between my sun damage and rosacea I hate the way my skin looks. If we could only go back in time with the knowledge we have now. (sigh)
The only other methods I've heard of for sun damage are laser treatments and they are much more expensive then the cream you are talking about. You can always buy a big, fashionable hat to wear this summer or maybe wait and start the cream this fall.
