Disney Vacation Question

we are driving to disney, so i guess it would be better for all of us to leave earlier in the day. but if we leave on our last day, we are kind of wasting the meal credits and park time. do you think its worth it to just add one night of hotel only to our trip. so basically are meals and park tickets will expire sunday, but we will have just the hotel till checking out on monday?

will it end up costing the same as the package, or would we be better off trying to stay one night somewhere outside the park that night. we will have our car.

What can I do next?

I agree with the other answers. I would stay off site the last night. We have done this several times even though we did not drive. In fact we usually do this both coming and going - We fly in late one day, say at an offsite hotel, then get up early and start our Disney trip having that first day as a full day in the parks. The coming home we do the same thing - we go to the parks that day leaving our luggage at the luggage counter of the resort. Then at the end of the day we pick up our bags and go to an off-site hotel and fly out early the next morning.

Have fun!

I think you should start heading home and then stop at a motel when (whoever is driving) gets tired.......

You can get a decent and pretty cheap hotel just off property. There are a ton just of out the west (?) gate on 192.

We left the park after it closed and stopped in Jacksonville FL. I think adding another night will add more to the package. Are you going through an agency?
I usually do all of our planning and getting of the tickets but with the Disney vacation we had a travel agent help us out.
It was worth it.

I'd suggest planning on staying until the park closes (but have your car packed) then leaving from there. Drive an hour or two (enough to get away from the pricey hotels) and stay at a motel or something. If that is too spontaneous for you, mapquest and find a place 60-100 miles away on your return route and book the room in advance. Plan on driving for an hour or two, then crashing and getting up in the morning and continuing.
