I have an 11 month old and plan to wean her in the next few months once she has transitioned to milk. She takes a pacifier for naps, bedtime, and longer car rides. Should I take the nuk (permanently) from her before or after I wean her from the breast? We waited until the first one was 20 months old to take the nuk (and I weaned her at 13 months).

I think you are only supposed to wean 1 thing at a time.

Let it ride for now. My son was about 18 or 20 months when he stopped showing interest in the pacifier. Let her be well-established with this new way of being (boob-free) and then watch for her cues that she's not interested.
I would wean from the pacifier first. It is easier to control the boob-usage than the paci-usage, IMO. She may start nursing more for added comfort, so be prepared for that. I much prefer to let the baby self-wean, but if you are determined to wean her, I would start by allowing the paci in the crib only. Then I would allow her to have it only while falling asleep (take it out of the crib once she is asleep. If she does not have another lovey, I would introduce one before starting the weaning and be sure she has it when going to bed. Lastly, I would just remove the paci altogether and not give in AT ALL and be sure anyone else caring for her knows this (dad, daycare, etc). If you give in once, you are starting from the beginning again. Once she is 100% off the paci, I would wait at least a month, even 2 months, to wean from the breast. Good job nursing both your kids to a year! It is so good for you and your baby, I would keep it up, if that is an option. Good luck with everything.

I would say after the breast... that way she still has her pacifier for comfort. I would wait until she is comfortable going with being weaned, then start working on the binky.
