Yes. Each year my son has been in preschool, one of the moms has organized a group gift for the teachers/preschool and we all chip in.
What you suggested sounds great.
My 5 year old is going to a preschool 2 days a week, 3 hrs a day. Last day is Thursday. Should I get the teacher something? I was thinking a barnes and noble gift card with a nice note made by my DD.
Do most kids get something for the preschool teacher?
Yes. Each year my son has been in preschool, one of the moms has organized a group gift for the teachers/preschool and we all chip in.

I did becuae my kids are a handful!
Yes, absolutely. If it's in your budget, teachers really do appreciate the acknowledgement of their hard work. Especially preschool teachers, who work with the most challenging age of children, and often are not paid much. I think a Barnes & Noble gift card would make for a lovely teacher gift!
Yes, especially if your child had a great teacher. Everyone likes recognition.
Last year my daughter was the only child who gave a gift. Her last day of preschool is this Friday. We got the teachers each a fuschia plant and put them in nice hand thrown pots. My daughter also made bead art magnets for them and wrote a thank you note. I thought about doing a gift card but opted to go a less traditional route.
If it's in your budget, then yes I think it's a really nice thing to do. Your gift idea sounds perfect.
My preschool actually has one parent who's in charge of organizing the end of the year class gift, everyone chips in a small amount of money for a gift card somewhere.
Yes this year I did:
I did $20 this year.. Yikes a little over budget, but I LOVE what I did.
I bought each of the teachers the Thirty One Mini Organizer bags and then lined it with tissue paper and filled the bag with red apples. Then on one side pouch I bought hand sanitizer and the other Colored Pencils and then bought some ABC stickers to fill the rest.
I did, but I am also a teacher, so I plan to spoil my kids' teachers throughout life. :)
My sons LOVED school this year, and I am so thankful since it is obviously their first time going. So, yes, I did an end of the year gift for the teacher.
Your gift sounds perfect! Our son had a "WONDERFUL preschool experience, so we gave the teacher and the aid a Barnes and Noble gift card.
This year my son's in kindergarten. We did Barnes and Noble at Christmas, so I decided to do Cold Stone Creamery for the end of the year. He's giving it to her tomorrow :-)
I plan to get something for the classrooms, my son was in TWO classrooms this year 5days a week, he started in an MLP with an IEP and they worked HARD to get him into a blended class with no IEP only needing accomodations, so I plan to get a Gift Card for each classroom to go towards goods for the classroom in addition to his Speech Therepist and Occupational Therepist as well. So, I plan to get 4 gift cards as thank you's.
