Do You Have a Blog?

My husband and I set up one for our son when he was born, and it's been a HUGE hit. All grandparents live in other states, plus we have very large extended families. We were having the same problem, everyone wanted individual news and photos, usually via email or phone. The blog has completely eliminated that. The only thing is that if I don't update it regularly, I get some complaints. So I just spend several hours once ever few weeks and add a BUNCH of new stuff, to last for a while.

We use a blog through GoDaddy.com, but it's complicated so I wouldn't recommend it. I've heard great reviews on Blogspot.com. :)

A blog and a picture site is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family!

Just to warn you, not everyone is going to like what you say and I've had little wars over the stupidest things! You have to be pretty sensitive with your written word because it doesn't always read like you mean it.

Still, they can be fun and rewarding if your family is tech-savvy!

No. I keep in touch with family and friends through Facebook. I also run a private message board for friends through freeforums.org, which works out quite well for us.

Whichever way you go, have fun with it!

We have a family blog that I created using blogger which is a google product. We have pictures, slideshows, and video in addition to text updates. It took a little effort to set up, but updates are fairly easy. Video and slideshows take a little more work, but we don't put those out there as often. I have a blog to keep family and friends updated on my daughter, as well as to share lots of pictures. As my daughter gets older, it so wonderful to go back and read my "computer journal". Also, you can have your blog turned into a book-so it really is a great way to keep a beautiful journal for your children. I use Google Blog. It is very easy to use...and has many safety features! I enjoy it...and have lots of friends who use Google Blog as well.
