My son is diagnosed with PDD-NOS. He had made great improvements. He was non verbal. He received early intervention he has wrap around services 40 hours a week. And he also received speech, physical, occupational, and behavior therapies. I also had him in therapies at the children's institute. He did wonders! He's still very shy and withdrawn but he talks!

My son was diagnosed with high functioning Autism and Aspergers. He received speech therapy, OT, and PT. Speech was by far the most beneficial. Speech Therapy not only involves teaching the child to talk but teaches them about sarcasm, idioms and so many things we take for granted.

My 7 year old son's official diagnosis is classic autism. He is considered nonverbal although about a year ago he started talking. No, he does not have 100% perfect and clear speech but it is there. In his case speech therapy has helped immensely. He receives OT as well but unfortunately it has not been as beneficial for him, in spite of needing this service.

Every child is different and as is true always what may work for one may not work for another.

Best wishes.

My son is 7, PDD-NOS. Pragmatic language difficulties (social conversation). He receives support at school and is doing well. Each child is different, so what's helpful for one may not be useful at all for another.

I highly recommend the blog adiaryofamom.wordpress.com. She has a neurotypical daughter and a daughter on the spectrum. Tons of info, support, hope, etc., and links on her site to other blogs. Most important are the AUTISTIC bloggers - they are out there sharing their stories of growing up on the spectrum. I highly recommend them as a source of info for insight on what your child is experiencing.

Feel free to visit my facebook page - autistikids - for more links to bloggers, resources, etc. I hope this helps! Feel free to IM me :)

The services and diagnosis we have are completely irrelevant to yours Im sorry to say. If you already have a diagnosis and are looking for people in your boat please be more specific with that as well as your childs age, then we can be much more helpful. The services that are the most helpful are those that target your childs specific needs. Is he severe, mild? Does he have speech issues? Motor issues? etc. Are you in EI now or in the past? I could go on and on. Ive answered a lot of questions here on how to get the best diagnostic for your child, the difference between ABA and DIR Floortime therapies and how to what to look for in a good therapist, etc.
I'd love to be helpful but the question is just to vague.
You can PM me if you'd like.
