Do You Think a Double Stroller Is Necessary?

I am due with my second in July. My first will be 20 months old when the baby is born. My husband and I are debating whether or not to get a double stroller. We go round and round on the issue. If we do, we would have to get the Graco Duo Glider in order to be able to use the infant car seat that snaps in. But they seem so bulky and cumbersome. I was just wondering if there are moms out there that have two young children that would benifit from a double stroller. If you didn't opt for the double stroller what other options do I have? Thanks, S.

What can I do next?

I have two children and a double stroller was a must! Although I would definitely shop around for one. I purchased one that I thought would be easy to maneuver and what not, however when you add the two year old and a baby with the carrier it is definitely not an easy thing to push! But I agree with the other woman who said it is a must! And your husband will understand, it is for BOTH of you! Good luck!

I agree w/ everyone else! YES! I don't have 2, but my sister and I have kids the same age and we regret NOT getting on!! We tend to do alot together, and having the kids 'strapped down' is so much easier! We take our 2 umbrella strollers, and have learned to manipulate pushing 2 @ the same time (sometimes one of us is carrying something else), but we still look @ someone w/ a double and look @ each other and say 'we should've done that!'

I must agree with both moms my daughter was 21 months when i had our son. It may take up more room in ur car but it is soooo worth it. We didnt get the stroller right away tho so when we did go to the mall we would have our single stroller and then get one from the mall. that worked just fine as long as there were two people to push them lol.

In a word, YES! Although your toddler will have her days of wanting to run around the mall or run ahead of you outside, you will want the double for a couple of reasons:
*When you are shopping you'll definitely use the extra room for holding your bags.
*You'll have days where your toddler will want to run away and you need to strap her in so you can concentrate on what you're doing or the baby.
*They will both fall asleep on you and you'll need a place for them to sleep while you're out. I guarantee it.
If you currently have a one seater stroller, keep it. You'll use that too.
I live in Medina so I know it's not quick to get home from shopping to put the kids down. You WILL let them sleep in the stroller so you have minutes of peace and quiet to shop or eat or whatever. You'll probably also find yourself pushing them around longer than necessary just to have the quiet time for mom!!!
One other reason to have the double stroller: We know men aren't the best at multitasking. So when dad takes the kids out so you can accomplish something at home (sleep, clean, whatever) he'll appreciate the double stroller then! Convince him that you're doing this for HIM. :)
