Does Anyone Have a Really Light and Easy to Push Vacuum Cleaner They Like?

I have had many breast cancer surgeries and also neck and back issues. I am going to buy a very easy to push and super light weight sweeper to keep up daily with the shedding of my labrador retriever. I am hoping that even my older kids could handle it easily, as well as myself. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

I have a Shark vacuum cleaner and I like it. It is powerful and lightweight and also not too expensive like some of the other ones.

I use the Roomba almost every day. It does the job for me, and I love it. In case you don't know what it is, it's a little circle robot that drives around the house vacuuming for me. I just have to pick up the big stuff that's on the floor. It works on hardwood floors, our kitchen tile, carpet, etc. I don't know why more people don't have it, but maybe it's not powerful enough if you have pets (we don't have any).

our dyson was worth every penny. Ive had it for over 5 years now, and works just as well as it did the first day we got it. They are pricey, but i think they are worth it

Love my Oreck. Extremely light weight. It is well worth the money. I also have a Dyson that I like but it is very heavy.
We just got new FR carpet. It is very thick with a high pile. It is a lot of work to push either vacuum around in the family room. I wish I had taken this into consideration when I purchased the carpet.
Take care of yourself.

The Oreck XL. It's an upright I use for an 82-year-old friend that can no longer push a vacuum. It's got the best edge brushes I've ever seen. I don't think there are any attachments for it, though; but check out the Orecks.

Oh, I have a Labrador that sheds, and keep control with a Roomba. It is seriously the best thing we ever bought. It would be ideal for people with back and other problems. I cannot recommend Roombas highly enough. Also all of my children aged 3, 5 &6 hanfpdle it easily.

I have an Oreck Xl top of the line and LOVE it.

SO lightweight I don't mind running the vac daily and it WORKS! I even use it on the stairs because it is so lightweight.

I take it in to the Oreck center once a year for a free cleanup, change out of hoses, bag, whatever is needed and I can't say enough about my Oreck. It is awesome.

I loved the Oreck upright for carpet(it is just ok on hard wood and not so good on uneven tiles).

I will repeat some of the other posters: Oreck. I have the XL. It's only 8 lbs. Yes, it is more expensive than dept. store / discount store models, but you also get a free tune-up for 10 years. I have had mine for about 5 years or so. No problems. Love it.

I have always except once) had a vacuum cleaner that's the "canister" type where the vacuum itself in on wheels and you drag it behind you. The part you push is lightweight and connected by a hose. It's much easier on the arms, shoulders, chest.

and yes - it's never too early to teach the kids to clean!

I have a Eureka "The Boss Power Plus". Very inexpensive, bagless, lightweight, and powerful. I have a cat & a 90lbs. dog so I vaccuum twice daily. I have had this Eureka for 4yrs. At only $50 I think its a steal. :)
