I am looking to order a Dora the Explorer cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday- any advice on where to go? I live in Phoenixville, and the party is in Limerick at Romp n Roll so anywhere in that vicinity would be great. Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

Hi,

I am so sorry I don't know the name of this dairy, but........it is across from the Coventry Mall. It is right in front of the Boscov's building. The side that is near the Sears side. It is a dairy (delicious ice cream by the way) and in the back where they have public seating they have tons of cake pans in all styles, some plain, some from tv shows, some well-known characters, some unkown. I think you will find it there. I hope so at least. Good luck!

Check out Michaels or AC Moore's to buy the Dora cake pan and make it yourself. It's pretty easy, we did a firetruck for my son - if you can make icing dots then that's all you need - follow the pattern and there you have it. Good luck!

J., believe it or not Acme makes a delicious and adorable Dora cake. I ordered it for my daughter when she was two years old as well. I'm sure you can find one near your home or party location.

There's a giant food store in that shopping mall. There's also an ACME on the next block. ONe of them should have a good cake. I prefer the Acme cakes, but you could see which has the best selection of Dora cakes.

I did a Dora theme party for my daughter a couple of years ago. We did it at home, but I'm sure you could use the same concept. We had set up different rooms in our house - one as a jungle, one with a "Crocodile Lake", and then we did games with prizes in a treasure chest in the kitchen. So the kids got a map like on Dora with jungle - Crocodile Lake - treasure chest. As a result I used the same basic idea on the cake. It was just a big sheet cake that I frosted with a path of sort meandering around it, and in different parts I put some small jungle animals, then a blue icing lake with a couple small crocodile toys, and then a small treasure chest. Basically it looked sort of like a Dora map. I also had small Dora and Boots characters on it. Even without tying it into different rooms or areas at the party, I'm sure you could use a similar idea. You can always go to nickjr.com and print out one of their Dora maps and fill it in with whatever themes/places make sense for you - you probably have things already you could use.

Dora's head is also remarkable easy to draw, so you could do a round cake as her head or draw her on a sheet cake with icing.

If you're ordering, most stores have a Dora kit with characters, etc. and will have a book with pictures you can browse through and see if you like it.

Hope that helps. Have fun!

I usually make cupcakes these days for my kids parties and jut buy toppers at the food store or party store. But I know that COSTCO has great cakes and Genuardi's. But if you are going to Romp n Roll, then I would just order from GIANT since it's right there.
