What double stroller would you recommend?
It needs to hold a 2 year old and a newborn at ALL times when out of the house and last for a couple of years, push smoothly, fold easily (and not take up a ton of room in the trunk, if possible).

ETA: High weight limits are a must as well! My 18 month old is already 35 pounds and will be 2 years when the new baby arrives.

What can I do next?

The Bob Duallie. It's large - but pushes incredibly smoothly and can handle a newborn and a toddler with ease. Just get the car seat attachment for the newborn.

Another recommendation for the BOB Duallie. It will last, is easy to maneuver, has the front swivel wheel that also locks. You can also easily pop the wheels off if you need to in order to fit it in the trunk.

I am also looking for a double stroller. I want to get the bob duallie but the infant car seat adapter only fits Graco®: SnugRide® and SnugRide® 30.

Combi twin stroller HANDS down. Been through the graco duo glider, sit and stand then finally the Combi. Wish I would have gotten it first. Love it for all the reasons the previous poster listed.

I have the Joovy Caboose and I generally like it and it does what I need. However, it has a couple of downsides for me. My older child doesn't like sitting backwards or standing. He wants to sit in the front. Now that my daughter is older and she can sit in back, it's not a problem but it did lead to a few battles when she was an infant. It's a good stroller and my problems may be specific to my kids. If you get it, get the ultralight. The regular one is not that heavy but the ultralight is definitely better.

However, if I were buying a double stroller (my Joovy was a hand me down), I would get the Baby Jogger City Mini. The way it folds is super easy and it is relatively light weight.

I've responded to this type of question before...

I love our combi double stroller. I am not sure about the weight limits on it though. It is reasonably priced. Is a side by side that actually fits through a "normal" door. The Graco infant seat fits on the left side (as you look at the stroller) with one foot in a cup holder, resting on the "cross-bar" and I purchased a strap to hook onto the framing and go across the top of the infant seat and hold it in place. This is how most systems that I looked at worked so I was comfortable "improvising". It folds easily and opens easily too. I think it takes up a reasonable amount of space (i.e. it is not too large) but I also have a Honda Pilot. There is some basket space underneath.

My almost 4YO uses it with her 18 month old brother when I go walking with the 7 week old in a front carrier. When I go to the mall, the 4YO walks and the other two go in the double. It is about 2 to 3 years old and has been holing up well.

Happy shopping! :-)

Joovy Caboose Ultralight is awesome. Gotta get the Ultralight, it's only 21 lbs. I would not recommend any other brand of "sit n stands", they just don't measure up. My kids and I love ours!
