I am looking into purchasing a double stroller for my almost 3-year old and 6 month old. I am interested in which style you have and what you like/don't like about it: side-by-side, tandem, and sit-and-ride.

What can I do next?

We have the sit-n-stand and are very happy with it! We got it when we had a newborn and almost 3 year old. Now the kids are 2 and almost 5 and it still works great. My 5 year old can ride if he wants or hop off:) Baby #3 is due in July and it will be perfect for baby and 2.5 year old.

We looked at a bunch of strollers but most double strollers were too heavy. I'm petite and have to lift it into a SUV. The sit-n-stand was one of the lightest ones. I'm now 7 months prego and can still lift it into the back of my SUV.

My sister has a Graco double stroller (two full seats, etc) and hates it. She calls it the18-wheeler and only uses it when she has to. She said it's hard to lift the older child into the back once they are 3 or 4 years old...she wishes they could just hop on by themselves.

A few friends said the side-by-side was great for neighborhood walks, but horrible in stores...too wide to fit through doors and aisles. But, I never tried one.

I recommend you go to a store and try them out. Do you want something to walk with, run with, just regular use, etc? Try the different strollers to check for features you'd like, heaviness, ease of use, etc.

That being said, I have a Sit N Stand. It's really nice for just going to the mall or taking walks. It is heavy, but lighter than the tandems that I looked at. Most of the time now though, I'm using our regular single stroller for our 10 month old and my 3 year old walks. If I go on a longer walk or if I know she'll be tired I use the Sit N Stand. It's nice because she can get out easily and walk, and she can hop back on easily if she gets tired.

Hi T.,

I have the Kolcraft Contours, which I love except that it takes up quite a bit of space in the van. It maneuvers so nicely, the seats can be positioned facing eachother, facing away, big storage pocket on bottom. It's pretty nice, and the wheels are nice and big too, so it's easier to push on something other than concrete.

I have a combi side by side that I really like except that the baskets underneath are too small. I think the models now also come with cup holders for the kids and mine doesn't have that. But it is very light weight and easy to fold.

I have a front to back double stroller. I went to the store & checked them all out, and it worked GREAT in the STORE...with kids in it is a whole other story!! With the weight of the kids in it, it was so hard to maneuver and steer! When we went to Disney World a couple years ago, I ended up buying a side by side umbrella stroller and LOVE it!! It's light weight, steers GREAT and gets through doorways. They are both for sale if you want either!

i got the double sit-n-stand (has a removable back seat, and the one i got also has a 2nd snack/drink tray for the back child)

works great inside and outside, not to hard to fold and i can fold it and put it in the suv myself being 7 months pregnant

the only problem is the basket is a little hard to access- easier to put the bag in from the middle (between the seats)

also the one with the removable back seat AND 2nd snack tray have a more leg room for the back seat- my 30 month old son loves it :)

I too have a Graco Quatro Duo. I love it and hate it sometimes. The worst is it is very bulky and heavy, you almost have to have a SUV to get it into your trunk. The best is it has totally fit the needs of my children based on their ages. My daughter had just turned two when my son was born and I figured the sit and stand was a little too much for her. My son is now a year and it still works well for the two of them. They love their stroller and when we travel, go to the mall, the zoo, anywhere it is a must.

I had a Graco Quattro Duo Stroller and hated it. Too bulky and heavy. I would get a side by side for outside or the Sit and stand for malls/inside. Good luck!
