Doula Recommendation for St Paul Delivery

I am going to try for a waterbirth at St Joes and I would love to hire a doula. My husband and i met with two doulas already (recommendations from friends) but we had a split reaction -- he loved one, I loved the other. So now we're back to square one. I have visited the childbirth collective website online but am having trouble narrowing down to WHO we should "interview" out of the blue.... anyone have any really strong recommendations? Looking for someone with a decent amount of experience who is personable and will "connect" with us quickly and easily, but who also has a great nurturing/calming presence. Thank you!

I recommend Jessie Weber, Home: ###-###-####
Pager: ###-###-####. She has attended over 1000 births and has four kids of her own. She is very open-minded and wants every woman to have the birth experience they want, no pre-conceived notions of how it should go, just very supportive of your birth plan.

Sarah Longacre is an amazing doula and also the owner of Blooma, a pre and post natal yoga studio. Check her out. She's well worth the money. Good luck!

I recommend Rebecca Feyder of Twin Cities Doula. You can see more info on her at www.twincitiesdoula.com

She's a friend of mine and such a sweetheart. Good luck deciding on a doula - and I think you made a wonderful choice!

You should visit the Parenting Oasis parentingoasis.org some day in Minneapolis. There are a lot of doulas that come there with their children and hang out. It may be a good place for you to casually meet them and figure out who you'd like to meet with with your husband.

I would recommend both of the doulas I had, but they have since moved out of state!

Good luck!

If you go to the childbirth Collective Free Parent Topic nights you can meet more and decide who to interview that way. Plus you get all the info. It is tough to decide. Lots of good ones out there!
