Dr. Fleischer (Boca Raton)

Is anyone a pacient of dr. Michael Fleischer? I've recently moved to Florida, I had no Ob/Gyn, but got pregnant. My insurance company referred to him as being specialized in high-risk pregnancies (this is what I'm looking for). I've seen him a couple of times, he ran the usual tests, but i don't feel well and he doesn't seem to be very interested. My right ovary has been surgically removed, but they "found" it when I had the ultrasound (that was just an example). I cannot afford to be too relaxed, because I'm 100% aware of my health condition. My first pregnancy was a high-risk one too (giant ovary cyst, big amount of fluid in the cul-de-sac, pre-eclampsia, kidney stone etc.). I am terrified, especially because i'll have a second c-section and i've heard so many unpleasant stories about this. Please help or recommend me someone else in the area. Thank you.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Guys, thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I didn't expect to receive so many answers from you, and for you to be so understanding. I'm overwhelmed.
Right now I'm back in Europe, because some other problems came up (at least this is what I've been told in Boca). Luckely, the doctors here have run all sort of tests and they assured me there is no problem with my baby (BTW, it's a boy!!!). I feel OK, I have all the assistance that I need and this is more comfortable for me. Maybe it's because I know the people here, I know how the system works & everything. This is why I'm still gonna need your help with the adjustment when I get back to Florida. I'll let you know of everything.
God bless you all!

Hi G..
Dr. Fleisher delivered my baby girl at Boca Community and he was wonderful. He has a great way about him and is calm, easy-going,and just made me feel like everything was going to be fine. I had a GREAT delivery with him. He had not been my ob throughout my pregnancy, but my doctor went out of town so Fleischer was my "back-up" doctor and he was fantastic. I have only positive things to say about him. Hope this helps!

I was high risk and saw Christine Edwards in Coral Springs. She was great!! I am not sure how much of a drive it would be for you but it might be worth it. She answered all my questions without fail, even the goofy ones! Good Luck!!

Hmmm, I have not heard of him but like you when I got pregnant I was new to the area. I got lucky and found good doctors and I have had two high risk pregnancies now. The office that I go to is Florida OB-GYN Associates however they got a new name and I don't have a new business card handy. The number is ###-###-#### and it is located next to the West Boca Medical Center at 9970 Central Park. I also saw Christine Edwards in Coral Springs, phone number ###-###-####. I heard from friends that she was the best and we saw her for my second high risk pregnancy. I hope this helps and good luck! Oh and the three doctors I had at the OB-GYN Associates were Ellman, Cueto and Schey. They are all great and were a lot of help.

I just went to an awesome OB/GYN in Boynton. (they have two offices in Boynton and one is in Boca-not sure which is better for you.) They have three doctors in the practice and 3 nurse practioners/midwifes. Not sure if they deal with High-risk, but I think they all do now............... I saw Dr. Tracy Burton, but the entire staff are sweethearts!!! Here is the number for the office that I went to in Bethesda Health City on Hagen Ranch Road ###-###-####.........even if you don't go to them, I am sure they will help you find a specialist if necessary....get the hell away from that Doc you are with! YEESH!

I'm not a mom and don't plan to be (I'll be 47 next month) so I have no first hand experience with your situation, but Dr Ansuya Kalra has been my ob/gyn for 20 plus years - she has offices in Boynton Beach & Lake Worth 2404 South Seacrest Boulevard, Boynton Beach, FL 33435 and
122b John F Kennedy Drive
Lake Worth, FL 33462
and she has lots of pictures of mom & babies (her patients) in her office :)

Good luck with everything!!

G.,

Hi,

I had also two high risk pregnancies. I tried EVERYTHING in the world to become pregnant for 9 yrs. From the simpliest thing to 4 endometriosis surgeries and nothing happened. I was told that I had a premature MENOPAUSE.

When I got pregnant for the 2 time (before my 1st. bb. turned 1, I moved to Coral Springs.) Nobody referred me a doctor. My ins. said that they didn't know.

Fortunatelly, I ended @ the Northwest Medical Center with C. Edwards. She is the most fantastic doctor. Nice, answers everything. Gives you the vitamins so you dont have to spend millions on them. She calls back ASAP. The same with her group of doctors. The nurses are nice and the receptionists are clever, very friendly and prof.

I recommend her 100%. She also delivers in Boca, and in Coral Springs. I picked the one in Margate, because it was closer to my house. The hospital had an excellent service. the room was huge, the coach for my husband very comfortable and the attention of the staff a must.

I swear that I was a little worried about it, because the first one was born at the Hollywood Memorial. It was not bad, but I my expectations were other.

If you need more info, pls. email me. I don't have Dr. edwards right with me now. But I can send it tomorrow.

Bye and good luck.

Maria.

Try Dr. Ben Graber of Coral Springs, Fl. if he is in your area. He is a GREAT ob/gyn doctor who knows his practice extremely well. Staff is a little slow, but he, himself is a wonderful, caring doctor! Good Luck! God bless you & your family!

Dr. Patel in Boca. He is off Glades Rd. west of the Turnpike. He specializes in high risk. Until this e-discussion, I thought he was the only one in the area b/c he has patients from all over Palm Beach and Broward counties.
Good luck.

Hi G.,

I have used Dr. Fleischer for 2 years and he delivered my son via c-section in September. I have had nothing but positive experiences with him and his staff. He has kind of a relaxed manner that can be perceived as lack of interest but I am very happy with him. He always will call you back himself even late or on the weekends when I've called. This was my second child and my first delivery experience was really awful. He made this time so easy. I was able to exercise after 3 weeks. Of course, you have to go with someone you feel confortable with but he has delivered many of my friends and I have never heard anything negative about him. And as I mentioned, my experience was overwhelmingly positive. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions you can email me at ____@____.com

Dr. Fleischer is also my gyno. I've had a good experience with him. Only a little over a year.
He has been able to offer me choices to avoid hysterectomy.Hysterectomy was the only solution offered by previous OB/GYN to my heavy periods with anemia, due to uterine fibroids. Additionally, I was referred to him by a coworker, who has over 40, had experienced many years of trying to conceive, and was able after assistance and care from Dr. Fleischer.

I don't know this Dr., but I went to Dr. Christine Edwards, a Perinatologist for both my first and 2nd pregnancies. She has offices in Coral Springs ###-###-#### and Boca ###-###-####. I'm not sure if you need to be referred by an OB/GYN, so give them a call to find out. Good luck!

Hi G.,
I had a baby last March and Dr Fleischer was my OB. He was wonderful, and I had a high-risk pregnancy too. I developed a blood clot while traveling in Europe and he really made himself available for us through all that craziness. He's not very exciteable and has a pretty laid back personality, but I really believe he is a great doctor. He's very knowledgeable and you'll get great care. I highly recommend him and truly can not say enough good things. My life was literally in his hands with the blood clot and he got me a fantastic blood specialist and worked with them through everything. Several of my friends have had babies and he was their doc as well (one c-section). Everyone I know that goes there loves him. Good luck with your pregnancy, let me know what you decide. If you have any other specific ?s about Dr F I'm happy to help.
J.
