I know that there are a lot of moms with a referral for you, but did you know that you're not required to get your son immunized to attend school? Just from the nature of your request, I was wondering if you were on the fence about vaccinating at all. If so, all you have to do is go to the CDC website download and print out a document to request the affadavit to refuse vaccines due to REASONS OF CONSCIENCE. Fax it to them and within a week you will get up to 5 affadavits that are good for 2 years each (don't notarize them until you need them). Then, your child will be able to attend school without a problem. I've never had a problem and most schools are seeing so many of them now they know what they are immediately. I would also encourage you to get educated on vaccinations at www.909shot.com and www.mercola.com and www.generationrescue.com. All these sight will offer great SCIENTIFIC information regarding the subject. Also, a must have for every parent is Dr. Sherry Tenpenny's DVD called: Vaccines: What CDC Documents and Science Reveal. It is a lecture by the Dr. after she did an in-depth study on ALL the CDC documents about the efficacy and safety of vaccines in children. In a nutshell, her conclusion is that vaccines are more dangerous than the disease itself and that the efficacy of vaccines are not all they are boasting. But, you have to make that decision for yourself. I'm a Chiropractor, with 16 years of study on the subject behind me. I felt very empowered and comfortable never allowing my son to get a shot--ever! Each parent has to make that decision themselves and get educated. The pedi's out there have blinders on and refuse to see the data and just continue to badger parents. In August, at my office, I'll be having a workshop on vaccines. I'll be going over the science behind vaccines and how they work in the body. I will not be telling parents not to vaccinate their children, that's out of my scope of practice. But, I think every parent deserves to know what vaccines do to the immune system and how they "work" before making a decision or having an educated talk with their pedi. I also give important info on what to look for in a vaccine reaction and when to change your appointment to vaccinate if your child is exhibiting any signs of being sick. Dr. Sedacca has joined 3 other wonderful pediatricians at Windhaven Pediatrics in Plano (Presbyterian Hospital of Plano).She rescued my son (from another pediatrician who shall go unnamed) when he was 6 months-old and just diagnosed with a rare metabolic disease. She took both my kiddos under her wing and nursed my son back to health and off of a liver transplant list. Here is a company that will send the split vaccine to your pedi's office after they send in the order. You pay for the vaccines, the vaccines are shipped and stored at the pedi's office--if they are willing to do it...if not....FIND a NEW pedi. I do not know of a pediatrician but i do know a pharmacy that will split the MMR up and send it to your doc.
The pharmacy is named Hopewell 1-800-792-6670. I know about them because we see a doc named Dr. RAo who is an allergist immunologist and treats children for specific disorders but he is not a pediatrician.
Please let me know if you find a pediatrician I am interested in finding one myself.

I don't know of any MDs that will separate MMR. I'm not sure why you'd want to. is there some info that you have that would lead you to think that it could be harmful to your son? I guess the way I look at it is..kids have been getting this vaccine for years w/o a problem, it's one shot instead of 3, and one co-pay instead of 3. I also don't think that the immunization is manufactured separately. I could be wrong. It seems to me that perhaps you should just get the shot and be done with it. It also doesn't seem worth the energy trying to find another doctor. ***EDITED***not to be rude but have any of you looked at the actual studies that have been done by the CDC or the Institute of Medicine? Please look at the legitimate research that has been done. I've looked at the CDC and the IOM published studies and there have been no epidemilogical links found between the MMR and autism. Theses two entities have been doing research on this since the late 1990's. the risks of not getting your kids vaccinated is HUGE! This is why there have been outbreaks of pertussis (whooping cough), measles, chicken pox, influenza b and hepatitis. If you don't want to immunize your kids that's your choice. However, don't expose them to my kids and then pass on all of the diseases that the immunizations are meant to protect us from.

I am not sure if this will be helpful or not but I am about to start seeing Dr. Daniel Chartrand (Allen Birthing Center on Main Street). I know that has a different veiw point on vaccines than most doctors. I do not know if he splits the vaccines up or not but you could give him a call. my name is L.. I am a medical assistant, i give injections on a regular basis. The mmr is one injection and it can't be split. It is the same as giving any other injection. I don't think you will find a physician that will split it up.
I have never heard of anyone doing this in all of my 10 years as a ma. Hope this helps

The doctor doesn't mix the vaccine, it comes that way from the manufacturer. You could try researching the major vaccine manufacturing companies to find out if there are any who split them up. Then from there you can find out what practitioners have received it split, and try to get in to see one of them.

There isn't anything wrong with the combination, though. Both my girls had their doses together and did just fine. (I gave them Tylenol before the shot.) Look at it this way, that's one less needle for your little guy to get. Good luck.
