I am interested in getting my son (22 mths) some boy dress up clothes. I have looked everywhere, and no one has any! Except waiting til Halloween is over and getting cheap costumes, does anyone have ideas? Thanks!

What can I do next?

The Toys R Us stuff is expensive, like over $20 for each outfit. I'd try my luck at garage sales, Halloween clearance sales in November, etc. Also, Home Depot gives kids a free "tool man" smock if you go to a kid's event there. Kids his age are also very happy to dress up in their parents' clothes, to use pillow cases as capes, etc. Good Luck! And please report what you find, I'm in need of other new ideas, too :)

try craigslist or my friend says that once upon a child puts their halloween stuff out in the summer....also try thrift stores, good will etc...i bet you can find hats, boots, suit jackets, ties etc...could you also get some fabric and make capes to play superman, king etc??(I assume when you say dress up you mean play clothes?)

Go to www.sensationalbeginnings.com. Click on "dressup" They have the best costume selection for toddlers and young children. They put out their Halloween costume catalogue online in July every year in anticipation of Halloween, or you can order one for free by calling them. Just go to their website for details. The costumes are a little pricey but they're charming.

My mom has bought my kids cute dress up stuff from www.lillianvernon.com. They're a little more affordable, and they have huge selection too. Their Halloween stuff should be online soon. They sometimes have stuff all year too.

You can get some stuff at party supply and dollar stores. Some stuff is really easy to make yourself: vests, capes, belts, even simple pants. You can get fray-proof fabric and elastic at a reasonable price and put things together with a hot glue gun or fabric glue if you don't have a sewing machine.
