My 14 month olds feet are peeling around the toes and heels, could this be caused by the pool or walking outside barefoot? I put lotion on in morning and night but see no change yet. What else can i do?
Could it be from his sandles?

What can I do next?

Dry skin on feet is mostly thickened and tough. The peeling you describe is common for athlete's foot - a fungus. You can get over-the-counter treatments in lotion or spray form. Treat his/her feet, wash and treat the shoes. Keep socks on until it clears up so the fungus isn't hanging out all over the floors. Disinfect the tub, etc.

it might not be dry feet. Could be athletes feet or eczema. Might want to have doc take a peek.

sounds like Athlete's Foot..Try a fungus spray , and if that doesn't work, take to a dermatologist.

and DO spray the sandals and thoroughly clean the bath/shower area so as not to possibly recontaminate..

good luck

My daughter gets this too (also just dry skin). Socks and shoes help keep the feet moist more than sandals. Also VERY helpful. Right after bathtime put a generous amount of aquaphor on his feet and cover with socks for the night - or for an hour or so. Good luck... she has gotten better as she got older too!

Mom:

If he has blisters on his hands or in his mouth? He could have 5ths Disease or Hand, Foot and Mouth.

He could have athlete's foot as well.

I would take him to the pediatrician and have him checked out!

Good luck!
