Due Date Calculators Giving Different Results

these due date calculators are confusing the heck out of me. one says due around aug 6th another says the 22nd and others says the 11th and 16th...... for some reason the site I use to track my cycle(mymonthlycycles.com) says average cycle is 44 days but when I look there are 30-33 days. I think it's saying 44 because a few months ago I went 126 days without a period(yeah that threw me off). So I'm trying to figure out am I 5 weeks or 8 weeks or what????? My last period started oct 31. My sister who found out the same day as me(period was oct 30) is due the aug 5th..... are we a day apart or weeks apart????

My son(sept 2007) was due the 21st and came on the 11th by c-section. I had problems towards the end with low potassium and low magnesium.... I was actually in the ICU several days, I had temporary paralysis. I couldn't walk or even brush my hair my limbs wouldn't move. They were afraid it was going to send me in to cardiac arrest it got so low. But because I was still a little over a month from my due date they wanted to try and stabilize me vs induce if not needed. After that I was getting sonograms with each appt to make sure everything was still ok with baby. So at what ended up being my last appt they asked if I had noticed a loss in fluid, which I hadn't. I was sent across the street to be induced. Before even being induced and just being on the heart monitors they noticed that his heart rate was already going up and down so they didn't want to risk stressing him with L/D so about an hour later he was here via c-section.

What can I do next?

Using my pregnancy calculator wheel assuming Oct 31 is the FIRST day of your last period, you are due Aug 7. This would make you 8 weeks pregnant today. However, since you have a history of irregular periods, you may be as little as 4-5 weeks if you ovulated very late. You probably need a 1st trimester ultrasound to give you an accurate due date. My babies were all due 2 and 3 weeks later than calculated by LMP (last menstrual period) due to my crazy long cycles with late ovulation. Congrats! Nurse Midwife Mom of 3

Pick whatever date you like best, and go with it. With my first baby, she was due in early October, but was born (full-sized!) mid-September. My second baby, the OB looked at my chart and said, "Oh, you're due in June, so I'm going to pick June 14 since it's my birthday." Wouldn't you know it, the baby came right on her due date (which the OB picked out of thin air, really!). Your baby will come whenever they're good and ready. :) Early August, give or take a few weeks! Congrats!

thebump.com says you're due Aug 6th. Everybody's different, so these due dates are approximates based on the norm. Sounds like your off-cycle is messing up on your monthly cycles site. Your doc will use a little wheel to determine your due date, and will likely says Aug 6th. But after a sonogram or two, your doc may or may not change your due date, based on the size of the baby and your first day of your last period.

CONGRATS!

Added: Using 3BoysUnder3's math, I should have had my child April 21st. My due date was somewhere mid-may. Doctor induced 2-3 weeks early and I had him April 25th. So not to be rude, but I don't think3BoysUnder3's math works for all. I'd add more like 9 months plus at least 2-3 weeks on top of that.

If you have a choice, choose a "later" due date. I know this is hard to do because we all can't wait to see out new baby, but it will give you a smaller possibility of NOT being induced. A natural start to labor usually means fewer interventions. Good luck!

I would make an appointment with your OB, who is probably familiar with your irregular cycles. They will probably do an ultrasound to determine the baby's gestational age/due date. I have long cycles too, and it always seemed I "should" be about 2 weeks further along than I was. I always assumed I was off by 2-3 weeks until that first appointment when the ultrasound gave an accurate date (my first came hours before his due date, my second a few days...we'll see what happens with #3!). Best of luck, and congratulations!!!

take the first day of your last period, subtract 10 days. from that date, add 9 months and voila, there is your due date.
so, if the first day of your last period was Oct. 31, then subtract 10 days would be Oct 21. add 9 months to that and you get July 21st. I got this technique from an OB friend of mine, my last OB told me the same thing. and it was accurate for me. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
