My daughter and I got ready to use her Easy Bake Oven for the first time and I saw the instructions said not to use a soft light or long life bulb. Everything we had (in 100 W) was soft white. So hubby went to Target. They didn't have any 100 W that weren't soft white either. Then he tried Home Depot. Does anyone know if we can still use the soft white light bulb? Will it need to cook longer or anything? My daughter has been looking forward to this for days. We really want to use it. Any advice?
Try a local hardware store. When my daughter got hers, I could not find a 100 watt bulb. I went to the local ACE and they had them. The guy thought I was crazy asking for it but I told him I needed it for the oven.
BTW, they are working on the Easy Bake and no bulb needed since the bulbs are going to be "extinct" very soon. I think the 100 watt goes out next year. Then the lower ones will be eliminated.
dollar stores usually have clear bulbs, but their cheaply made so buy extra if you find them there
We got ours a Ace Hardware.
You may need to look online for this type of bulb because it's being phased out. I read that this oven is being redesigned or scrapped altogether (can't remember which) because soon there won't be the old style light bulbs anymore.
I got the one for my daughter at Menard's but.... I just checked and there isn't any in your area. Did you check Walmart?
Amazon has them. You can search on Easy Bake Oven light bulb, and they will pop up in the search results.
