I am lookinf for some new meals and snack for my 20 month old. She has a milk and egg allergy and is a picky eater. I can substitute them if you have ideas. We are just bored of what we are eating and want something new to try. Thanks

My daughter also has an all dairy, egg & nut allergies, she is 6 years old and has had this since she was born. My daughter is a big fruit eater. Graham cracker, teddy graham (honey or cinnamon), saltines (try with jelly). She enjoys Tyson frozen Chicken Tenders, pork chops, steak and chicken breast (use salt/pepper as seasoning). For butter we use Benecol but it is very expensive, we just found out that our store brand (hannaford) is dairy free so we bought a separate tub of butter just for her so it doesn't become contaminated. Plain bagels are good but that is about it for baked good. Vanilla Soy yogurt is good but add some color sprinkles for fun. She drinks 8th Continent Vanilla milk. I have two cookbooks that I have tried many recipes from: "What's to Eat? Milk Free, Egg Free, Nut Free Food Allergy Cookbook" & "The Milk Free Kitchen". These will also give you tons of ideas, pancakes, waffles, cakes, meals, etc. Kelloggs Pop Tarts Apple Strudle, good for breakfast. There are some Organic cereals (with animals on the box) that she might like. You will need to read labels on lots of different things to keep her interested. I hope this gives you some new ideas...good luck!

My son LOVES toasted cheese sandwiches. You could try them with soy cheese (really tasty). I usually add different things under the cheese. He likes tomatoes, ham, turkey, etc.

He also really likes pancakes. My husband makes a huge batch and we freeze them individually for quick snacks and breakfast options. With some juice and sliced fruit, it's a great meal!

My son too is allergic to milk. He was kept off egg until he was 2 but no egg allergy so now he doesn't eat them hardly at all! :)

My son did well with fruits as snacks...what kind of snacks are you looking for? Prepackaged ideas for like on the go? I do not know if they contain egg, but Teddy Grahams are safe options as well as some other graham cracker based cookies. Alot of the dry cereals are good to snack on too - he likes Corn Pops, Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms, even Coco Puffs!

Feel free to email me and I'll check my closet - to give you more suggestions. I have struggled with his food for 7 years now so I know where you are coming from in the way of "getting bored" with food options!

Hope that helps a little! :)

HI Alison,
My son has a ton of allergies. We have found some really good mixes made by CherryBrook Kitchen. They have very good cakes and pancake mix (egg and dairy free). Hope this helps. It gets so boring so quickly but these mixes have really helped us out!

Any kind of veggie stick with a variety of dips--hummus, nut/sesame/sun butter, mashed up avocado, pate, etc

I agree with what Rhannie O. suggests. My son loves hummus and avocado. I try to use those as dips/spreads instead of ketchup. Incorporate exotic fruits in addition to the usual fruit--things like mango or papaya....and veggies (especially green veggies): sauteed spinach, roasted broccoli, baked kale (you can bake Kale with some olive oil and salt to make tasty "chips"). Now that it's summer you can grill just about every veggie...Remember that veggies don't have to be boring--try using different olive oils, cooking methods and spices to keep things interesting and find out what she likes best. Serve with some brown rice and a form of protein and you'll be good to go.

Also, if you're looking for convenience foods, many gluten-free foods are egg, dairy and nut free. If she doesn't have a nut allergy you can spread almond butter on apples, bananas, the list is endless!
