hi moms, my daughter is 12 months, almost 13 months, she was 9 months on breast milk, now on formula, my problem is she doesnt want to eat any solids, i have been trying and offering her since she was 6 months old, but nothing, just little finger food here and there, but it is never enough to cover at least one whole meal, always after every finger food she eats a little bit , then she stops and will not eat anything but her formula, some people tell me let her to be hungry, but she is never hungry, if i dont give her food even 24 hours she will never cry or ask for food, i dont know what to do, always a bottle. any suggestions please? thank you

What can I do next?

no problem, i had much similar problem....my son is 3 yr old now and much better....but this work never ends for a mother.
if she loves her bottle, dont take it away from her give her shakes..banana,papaya,strawberry etc.giv her soups...juice, smoothies.
you can also give her rice pudding cooked in milk or even sooji(google it for its picture)...and then grind it. you can also add a little bit of sugar in her salty food to give her a familiar taste.the formula is grind everything.she is probably teething and doesnt want to chew, it might be hurting her..let her get used to different tastes first and then you must think about giving biteful snacks!!

One of our kids (only one) is a picky eater.
Todller formula will give lots of nutrition until she is read to eat.
You can't make her and some kids are slow about something and
she will not be on the bottle forever.
As long as your doctor thinks she is growing it is OK.

Is she thriving? If so, maybe she is eating the amount that is right for her natural appetite. Or maybe you are giving her too much milk before dinner time and that is filling her tummy up, leaving no room for food. Another thought is that she is possibly teething and chewing on food is uncomfortable for her at this time.

Just some things for you to consider.

Unless your doctor has expressed a concern about her health, I wouldnt worry too much about it. Keep giving her a variety of finger foods to try - peas, berries, deli meat, bread, tortilla, cheese, cottage cheese.... little pinches of anything you are having. If she tries it - good. If she doesnt, maybe she will tomorrow.

Table food has VERY LITTLE nutrition compared to breastmilk and formula. It's also super difficult to digest. So if your daughter is EITHER a fast grower (and her body is screaming for calories and nutrients to keep up the growing) OR has a normal to late developing digestive system (some babies can digest at 6mo, most by 1 year, very few can't at 18mo)... her body just isn't going to WANT table food. Which translates into it smelling and tasting bad. If so that's a GOOD thing. She either needs the higher levels of nutrition found in formula, or eating table food would make her sick (gas, colic, cramping, vomitting, diarrhea, sleep problems, etc.)

I would keep up with the formula for another couple months. If in 3 months she still won't touch solids, take her in to see if there's a problem. ((Or go now if you're worried. I'm not, but I'm also not right there)).
