While it is nice to get a career that pays well and is popular, you first need to decide what your interest are and what your know strengths and weaknesses are. Do you want to return to school fulltime or part-time?
Also your local employment center or even some colleges have career test you can take online that tries to find your best fit career.
Next take a look at your local colleges both 4 and 2 yr. Scan their online catalogs and look at their degree or certificate programs. See if they have online programs, evening or it is just day classes. Also look at technical schools in your area. These will give you some idea of what is out there.
If your local school do not suit you, then try other schools with online programs.
If you find an area you are interested in, you might want to enroll in just one course to see if you really like it. The internet has lots of info too but you need to know your interest. Take a look at the Bureau of labor website at http://www.bls.gov/OCO/ - it will provide you with occupational outlook and the skills and education needed for most career fields.
Good luck.
