Eight Weeks Pregnant and Insatiable Appetite

Hello Moms -
I don't remember being this hungry during my first pregnancy - I want to eat every two hours (or less). And, of course what I want is not exactly healthy fare. I assume this is normal (and making up for the fact that was too nausous to eat much for the past few weeks), but would love some confirmation - and some thoughts on how to fill my tummy!
Thanks, all!

So What Happened?

Thanks, Moms! Good advice and tips. I'd love to fill up on nuts, but I can't have any in the house due to my son's allergies (I'll just have to sneak them in another way!). The good news is that what I'm craving most - french fries - are not readily available in my house, and I'm too exhausted to try to seek them out. I'm also having food aversions to the really rich desserts that I usually love. I guess that's a good thing. I'll keep trying to find good proteins that I can stomach and that I can keep around the house. Thanks again!

I was so sick with my first and so far (5 months) with my second that I can't eat anything, so my advice isn't from experience! But I would eat as often as you are hungry and try to eat the healthiest version of what you crave. For example, if you are dying for chocolate, see if you can find a granola bar that might have fruit, nuts and chocolate. And protein helps you feel full for longer, try filling up on that first.

I say, eat it all ( horrible advise)! I'm 10 weeks & can't eat anything. I get so hungry & make myself a feast. I sit down, so excited , eat a few bites , & feel so full & disgusted.

With my 2nd pregnancy, ALL I craved, was salads. Morning noon and night. ALL THE TIME ALL DAY AND NIGHT! Constantly.
But what's funny is, my picky eating son, LOVES salads.

I remember with my last one I had to eat non stop or I would be sick. I think it is pretty normal.

Eat what you crave-in a reasonable portion-or you will wind up like me during pregnancy-with your own zip code!

I did feel like I ate a lot in the 1st trimester this last pregnancy. My appetite tapered off some in the 2nd. It was the only way to keep the nausea at bay, and also I was just hungry! I had a post on here (if you look at my history) where I got some food tips for the 1st trimester, related eating often while helping keep the nausea away. Congrats!

Lucky you! I was puking forever during both my pregnancies!

If I were you, I'd make smoothies with protein and fruit and milk. You need all of that, and it will help fill you up. Cut up veggies that you can eat raw and eat them too. If you eat a bunch of fried food, you will "hate yourself in the morning" LOL! so to speak.

Try looking up pregnancy diets so that you get what you need. If you eat the right kinds of foods, you'll get to eat plenty and not go hungry.

Don't forget the water. You're taking pregnancy vitamins for the folic acid, right?

Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches, on white bread, w chocolate milk!!! I couldn't get enough! Ate it every morning for breakfast and for lunch! I actually dreamt about it at night and couldn't wait to get up in the morning to eat 2 sandwiches! Good Lord, I put on 10lbs in my first 8 weeks! Dr. Told me to cut down. That was my first, over 9 years ago and I still remember it like it was last year! Lol! Positive note....she has absolutely no allergies! Crazy. I didn't care for PB&j or milk w my second. My second has allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, & asthma! Had I known I would have forced myself to eat it with my second. Good protein in peanut butter. I couldn't stand meat with my first.
