You can look up schools, see how they rated. Don't look at the "parents rating", you want to go to "compare your school to others in the area" option and see the ratings for the schools in the area.
Exemplary rating is the best.
Recognized rating is second best.
Academically Acceptable rating means they are so-so but not very good.
TH Rogers Elementary is near you and received an "Exemplary" rating which is excellent. Maybe you could move to zone into that school. I couldn't find a rating for the Young Learners school.
I made a comment about Georges Place elementary earlier but I have retracted it. Another person posted on that school and I believe I was wrong when I stated I thought it received good ratings.
Bottom line, people move (or should) to where they are zoned into the best schools. If the schools in your area don't meet your standards, then it may be time to pack up and move. Private schools are great but be prepared to spend $6,000 and up a year.
